A few weeks ago I was sceptical, even worried, about the future of Halo. Rather ironically, despite the name, I felt as if the franchise’s days were numbered. However, this Winter Update for Halo Infinite has given me hope and underscored 343’s commitment to the game.
Halo Infinite’s Campaign has been out for a little while now, and there have been many reviews and opinion pieces to come out since its release. After playing through the game myself, I decided to boil it down to simply what things were a hit and what were a miss in Halo Infinite's Campaign.
Despite falling into some of the same traps as its predecessor, Halo Infinite is a huge step in the right direction and something of a correction course. Overall 343 Industries have delivered on their promise to return Halo to its roots, whilst breaking new ground, and it’s much better off for it.
Halo is as synonymous with Xbox as Ant is with Dec, fish is with chips and Ross is with Rachel. They are just meant to be together, no matter what it takes. It might have been delayed by an extra year, but all signs point towards that being a good thing. Drum roll please as the legendary Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite, and the campaign is available to play right now on Xbox and PC.
Surprising no-one, the Xbox 20th Anniversary Celebrations signalled the launch of the Halo Infinite Technical Beta, which - in Earth-speak - means that anyone can play Halo Infinite’s multiplayer mode, for free, now! So, if you have an Xbox of any modern denomination, you can download it, hop in and play it for free today.
