The Life is Strange franchise is one that has rarely failed to deliver. Having started way back in 2015 when episodic storytelling was all the rage, it's gone through multiple variations, telling tales as it does so. Today though it's time to go back to where it all started with Life is Strange and the spin-off from that, Before the Storm. But why? Well, because they make up the entirety of the Life is Strange Remastered Collection.
It's taken more than a year to get to this point, but finally we reach the end of the road for the Diaz brothers, as Life is Strange 2 comes crashing to a halt with the launch of Episode 5.
With two major story arcs under their belt already, the team behind Titan Comics' Life is Strange series - Emma Vieceli, Claudia Leonardi and Andrea Izzo – are back to deliver more. The main protagonists, Max and Chloe, have been through so much on this long and arduous journey through life and alternate timelines, but now we’re about to see which direction Life is Strange Issue #9 is going to take; kicking off the third narrative arc.
There are numerous narrative adventures for gamers to get their teeth into, but right up there with the very best are those of the Life is Strange franchise. After wowing the playing public with the original season, and then pushing on with Life is Strange 2 to equally good effect, anyone serious about getting fully immersed in a deep tale will want to check them out. But until now, it's only been those happy to embrace the digital lifestyle who have been able to really enjoy Life is Strange, but the arrival of Life is Strange 2 in boxed form is set to change that.
With Episode 3 in the Life is Strange 2 saga ending on such an exciting cliffhanger it was always going to be interesting to see what happens to the Diaz brothers in this next, and penultimate episode; would the story continue on such an interesting trajectory or dip again into the lows of previous episodes?
When I first heard about Titan Comics publishing a mini-series to provide a continuation of the narrative for Life is Strange, I could’ve never imagined it’d become an ongoing series and be able to hook in readers for the long haul. But now, as we reach the final part of the second major story arc in Life is Strange Issue #8, Max and Chloe’s journey looks seemingly endless. It’s time to find out how events will unfold in order to both create a fitting conclusion and leave the door ajar for the next chapter.
It may not have wowed the crowds quite as much as the original episodic series did, but Life is Strange 2 is still well worth a play. Today the fourth chapter of the tale arrives for download, with 'Faith' continuing the Diaz brothers' journey towards a new life.
The second story arc for the Life is Strange comic series from Titan Comics has almost reached its climax, with the penultimate issue now in hand to deliver more dramatic goings on for Max and Chloe. It’s been a bit of a slow-burner so far, but the ‘Waves’ narrative really needs to turn things up a notch for Life is Strange Issue #7 in order to ensure the reader checks out the final instalment. Has it succeeded in doing so though?
