The simple, yet incredibly addictive, joy of the marble shooter has returned to Xbox in a colourful new pirate-themed package - Zumba – Treasure of the Marble Sea.
If you can remember back to the 1980s, you'll know that the marble was king. As gaming slowly grew into the juggernaut it is today, those spheres grew with the industry, with games such as Marble Madness and Marble Blast Ultra playing host to hugely enjoyable experiences. Today the humble marble is back as Marble Void arrives.Â
Marble Blast Ultra will always be intertwined with the launch of XBLA; the excitement of getting games digitally, immediately; the sudden new avenue for getting Gamerscore, and the hidden gems lost amongst the dross.
You can give us gamers all the fanciest gameplay mechanics in the world, but at the end of the day, drop a marble onto a piece of track before asking us to move it to the other end and we’ll be as happy as a pig in muck. History proves this to be the case and the likes of Marble Madness and then Marble Blast Ultra have gone down massively well with the gaming community.
Now though we have Marble Void - a game which even the developers admit has been hugely inspired by both titles that have come before it.
Although Marble Void recently released on Xbox One, it was, and still is, limited to the North American region. That in itself may have narrowed the appeal of the game, but with a global audience and a rich history of marble gaming history behind us - yep, veterans of Marble Blast Ultra and Marble Madness here - Â we thought it only right to give you a quick look at some of the gameplay found within. So here we are, taking a first look at Marble Void on Xbox One.Â
