Pool and snooker games have come on leaps and bounds in recent years, with the likes of Pure Pool covering both sports in the finest manner, giving gamers the chance to build breaks and play with spin like never before. But now there's a new kid on the block, one that is fully optimised for the next gen consoles of Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. That game is 3D Billiards - Pool & Snooker - Remastered.

It was way back in July of 2016 when we first heard of Snooker Nation Championship, as it arrived on Xbox One in Game Preview form. Now though, near on three years later, we finally see the game emerge from the shadows to release as a fully fledged experience on Xbox One.

A collaborative effort between Ripstone, Lab42 and World Snooker themselves, Snooker 19 is trying to draw in the crowds. Does it succeed in that long pot, or has it left itself snookered behind the black?

It's being billed as the first official snooker game in a generation, but, just like buses, as one snooker game comes along, multiple others follow it. Breaking off and attempting to get a decent lead over their opponents though are the team at Ripstone, as they release Snooker 19 to Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

If you like potting balls then you will know that VooFoo Studios are the kings of the baize. After delivering Hustle Kings and Pure Pool to the masses, and currently seeing their development process take in This Is Pool, if anyone knows a thing or two about cue sports, it is VooFoo. But it seems as though focusing on the pool side of the ball potting world isn't enough for this team, as they have now announced Stephen Hendry's This Is Snooker for Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC. And yes, the great man himself features heavily!

We previously told you how Snooker 19 from Ripstone Games was set to tear up the baize on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC at some point in 2019. Well, whilst a fully confirmed, nailed down release date is still to appear, it seems like for now a Spring 2019 window will have to do - and the latest gameplay trailer confirms that.

There is no debate that the draw of snooker has declined since the heady days of the 1980s and 1990s.
