Forgotten Fields – now on Xbox

Prepare for a warm, slice-of-life narrative adventure that delves into nostalgia, creativity, and the passage of time. But should you head to the Forgotten Fields on Xbox?

Forgotten Fields is the latest poignant tale from Frostwood Interactive (the developer that brought you the acclaimed Rainswept), has launched on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. Published by Nejcraft, this cozy experience is available right now for £9.59, available on PC via Steam too if you like.

Forgotten Fields introduces us to Sid, a writer struggling with a crippling case of writer’s block. The pressure is on, as he needs to conjure up a story and apply for a crucial grant to pay the bills – and the deadline is today, a lazy Sunday in the middle of summer.

A Reluctant Journey Home & a Story Within a Story

Just as Sid is wrestling with his frozen creative juices, an unavoidable family obligation calls him away. The childhood home he grew up in is about to be sold, and his mother wants him to return for one last small party to say goodbye. This is hardly something Sid is looking forward to, given his pressing deadline.

What unfolds is a warm, atmospheric journey back to these familiar, yet fading, places. Players will guide Sid as he talks to old friends, runs through fields brimming with memories, and even takes a swim in the ocean, all while solving simple, relaxing puzzles that keep the gameplay interesting without overshadowing the narrative.

A unique aspect of Forgotten Fields is its parallel storytelling; as Sid attempts to write his book, players will actually play through segments of this fantasy world story, directly taking part in his creative process.

Key Features

  • A warm, slice-of-life narrative exploring nostalgia, creativity, and the passage of time.

Will Sid Find His Inspiration?

It’s available right now on the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for £9.59.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
