The Manairons keyart as the game launches on Xbox and Play Anywhere
Manairons – now on Xbox

Manairons bursts onto Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC with Xbox Play Anywhere support, priced at ÂŁ20.99 – and it does so with a flute in hand and a village in trouble.

This 3D action platformer, inspired by Pyrenean folklore, throws players into a world where tiny magical creatures have been pushed too far, factories are choking out tradition, and one newly awakened manairĂł must bring a little chaos back to restore the balance.

Previously available on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC, Manairons now makes its move onto Xbox, inviting a new audience to discover its mix of platforming, puzzle-solving and musical magic.

Folklore Meets Factory Smoke

Set high in the Pyrenees, Manairons draws on regional legends of mischievous magical beings said to inhabit the mountains. You step into the role of Nai, a manairó freed from centuries trapped inside the mysterious “canut”, an ancient magical artifact now misused by an over-ambitious landowner named Llorenç.

Armed with industrial machines and very little charm, Llorenç has reshaped the peaceful village of Vilamont into a mechanised sprawl. Shops are shuttered, villagers are hiding indoors and your fellow manairons are working relentlessly under forced command.

This is not how the legends were meant to unfold.

Music As Magic

What sets Manairons apart is how it weaves music into both exploration and combat.

Nai learns a series of melodies that influence the world around him. Play the right tune and mechanisms spring to life, puzzles unlock and fellow manairons respond. Some challenges require experimentation, others careful timing, encouraging players to think creatively rather than simply react.

But when confrontation becomes unavoidable, the flute becomes a tool of disruption. Nai can knock opposing mana irons unconscious or lull them into sleep, turning encounters into brisk, reactive skirmishes rather than drawn-out battles.

Bosses, Hidden Corners And A Village Worth Fighting For

Each of Vilamont’s key businesses acts as a themed zone, complete with its own challenges and a boss encounter guarding progress. Secrets are tucked away throughout, rewarding players willing to poke around every corner.

Vilamont is more than a collection of levels. Each business area carries its own visual identity and mechanical twist, creating a steady rhythm of discovery. Beneath the playful tone sits a subtle clash between magic and industrialisation – tradition versus unchecked progress.

With Xbox Play Anywhere support, players can move seamlessly between Xbox consoles and PC with shared progress. For a game that encourages revisiting areas to uncover missed secrets, that flexibility adds welcome convenience.

A New Stage For The Manairons

Manairons is available now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC for ÂŁ20.99 through the Xbox Store, expanding its reach beyond its previous PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and PC releases. It is colourful, inventive and comfortably confident in its identity.

If you are after a platformer that swaps swords for sheet music and blends folklore with light-hearted rebellion, Manairons offers a spirited adventure that feels refreshingly different.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
