The most intense of shooters – Devil Engine Complete Edition on Xbox

Previously on Switch, PlayStation and PC, the high octane side-scrolling shooting of Devil Engine finally comes to the world of Xbox. It’s doing so in Complete Edition form too.

The Complete Edition of Devil Engine

Available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, is Devil Engine: Complete Edition. It comes from the Poppy Works team and runs at a price of ÂŁ20.99 from the Xbox Store. Having previously been available without the ‘Complete Edition’ tag on other formats, it’s time for us Xbox gamers to discover what we’ve been missing.

Running as a side-scrolling shooter, Devil Engine: Complete Edition is right up there in and amongst the most intense options available in the genre. It has you piloting a little ship, as you attempt to take down anything that gets in your way. That ship is The Andraste and it’s your only hope in saving the world against the thread of the Devil Engine.

Seemingly ripped straight out of the 32-bit era, Devil Engine: Complete Edition lands on Xbox with some previous love behind. It’s full of great locales, delivered via some lovingly drawn pixel art. And accompanying all that is a soundtrack that helps bring it all to life.

Buy now on Xbox!

A ‘Very Positive’ review rating on Steam should mean that Devil Engine: Complete Edition on Xbox is one to consider. If you think this may be your bag, head on over to the Xbox Store.

We’ll do the same and run a review as soon as we can.

Devil Engine: Complete Edition on Xbox Game Description

A last ditch effort to destroy what was once to be our savior. A final mission to eliminate a disastrous future. A single ship against Earth’s entire military. The Andraste is the only hope to defeat…the Devil Engine. Devil Engine is a high octane, classic styled side scrolling shoot-em-up heavily influenced by the best in the genre from the 32-bit era, featuring a variety of incredible locations, hand drawn pixel art, and a blood-pumping soundtrack that brings the dark future to life.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
