Get ready to answer the call as Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is revealed!

astragon Entertainment and developer weltenbauer Software Entwicklung have announced Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, a new and immersive firefighting simulation coming to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in Autumn 2025.

This title promises to deliver a thrilling and authentic experience, putting players in the heart of the action as U.S. firefighters.

If you’re familiar with other simulation titles, you might recall our reviews of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers and Firefighting Simulator – The Squad, both published by astragon. Our 3/5 review of Firefighting Simulator – The Squad noted that it “manages to capture something of the dangerous (and dare we say) exciting profession,” but criticised its repetitive nature. Further to that, our 1.5/5 review of Police Simulator: Patrol Officers, on the other hand, found it lacking in polish and presentation.

With Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, the developers aim to deliver a more refined and immersive simulation experience. We can only cross our fingers and hope for that to be the case.

Unite Against the Flames

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite places you in the boots of a U.S. firefighter, tasked with responding to a variety of high-stakes emergencies.

From rescuing civilians trapped in burning buildings to battling complex fire scenarios involving electrical fires, grease fires, and explosive hazards, the game aims to capture the intensity and challenges of firefighting.

Teamwork is paramount, whether you choose to play solo with AI-controlled teammates or join forces with up to four players in cooperative multiplayer mode.

A Leap Forward in Realism?

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is powered by Unreal Engine 5, promising cutting-edge fire, smoke, and heat physics for an unparalleled level of realism. Players will need to strategically deploy the correct extinguishing agents and firefighting techniques to effectively combat each blaze.

The game also features officially licensed firefighting equipment from industry-leading brands such as HAIX®, Fire-Dex, and STIHL, including fire hoses, saws, Halligan tools, axes, and protective gear. You’ll also operate authentic Rosenbauer America fire trucks, such as the TP3® Pumper, Viper®, 68′ Roadrunner, and the brand-new RTX.

For the first time, players can customise their firefighter’s appearance, adding a personal touch to their experience.

More Ways to Play

Firefighting Simulator: Ignite will be available in both standard and Extended Editions. The Extended Edition includes the Firestation Companion Pack, which features a Dalmatian dog for the fire station and a special firefighter helmet.

Physical retail editions will also be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in selected regions.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
