It’s been years since Tintin and his beloved Snowy have been at the forefront of society, but thanks to a new partnership between Microids and Moulinsart, he’ll soon be back with a new game based on the comic book series The Adventures of Tintin.

While the game title, format launch, any form of artwork, and pretty much any and all details are super thin on the ground, news that Tintin is making a comeback delivers excitement to us, and as the publishing team at Microids celebrates 35 years of being in the business, they are today confirming that a return to the good old days is on the cards.

Published by Casterman and having sold more than 250,000,000 books, it’s fair to say there is much love out there for Tintin and his dear Snowy. And that love is soon to be heightened with Microids and Moulinsart developing and publishing a brand new action adventure game starring the lad. This looks set to whisk the player off into a whirlwind of incredible situations and suspense, going hand in hand with the legendary Tintin and Snowy characters. As you would expect to hear, others from the Tintin world will be present too, like the renowned captain Haddock, fond of fine whiskey and sophisticated slurs, the genius professor Calculus and the finest detectives Thomson & Thompson.

After navigating all the seas, having explored numerous continents, taken in some deep sea diving in a submarine and even walking on the Moon, the most famous reporter is ready for some brand new interactive adventures. And we can’t wait to see Tintin make a full return.

Microids is proud to collaborate with Moulisart on this project as Stéphane Longeard, CEO of Microids comments further:

« We are extremely happy to work on this co-production! We have been willing to make this happen for quite some time. This announcement is the result of a creative process allowing us to define precisely how this project will take shape and the two companies will interact. This really is a dream come true for us. The adventures of Tintin transported millions of readers worldwide and this opportunity will allow us to put our talents at the service of one of the biggest creators of the 20th century and its inked hero: Our team members are fans of the famous reporter and will do their best to pay this franchise a vibrant homage. We can’t wait to kick-off this project!”

Nick Rodwell, Moulinsart’s director is also sharing his thoughts:

« The upcoming PC and consoles video game inserts itself pretty well in the legacy of the most famous reporter’s adventures. Our ambition is to provide a mainstream audience with a fun and friendly game for everyone to enjoy. Microids is for us the ideal partner to bring to life this new Tintin’s adventure »

Looking forward to what Microids and Moulinsart can produce with a new Tintin game? We will of course keep you fully up-to-date with development as the weeks and months progress, especially if suspected confirmation of an Xbox release is part of the plan. Keep an eye out for it.
