The Fairys Secret – continuing the tale

Ready to dive back into a world of fairies, knights, and blossoming romance? The Fairy’s Secret, the direct sequel to the visual novel The Fairy’s Song, has launched on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch.

Published by the ever-prolific Ratalaika Games, this kinetic novel continues the heartfelt romance story wrapped in beautiful art and music.

We reviewed the first entry, The Fairy’s Song, back in 2023, awarding it a 3.5/5 score. We noted that while lacking interactivity, “It’s polished to a crystal-like sheen, and the characters all grow to become endearing versions of themselves… for a few hours – we were under its spell.

Now, the story continues.

Available for £11.99 (though currently enjoying a nice little launch discount down to £9.59 for a limited time!), The Fairy’s Secret picks up two years later. Marnie, the goth girl protagonist, is now happily living with her girlfriend, the former sleeping knight Lisbeth.

However, worries about Marnie’s ailing grandmother, Iris, prompt the couple to visit the scenic village of Fenchapel during the summer holidays.

Their peaceful visit takes a complicated turn when a familiar face reappears in Iris’s garden: Edmund, the vengeful knight, seemingly returned from beyond the grave! He delivers a grim and alarming message, setting the stage for a new wave of mystery and drama that Marnie and Lisbeth must navigate.

A Kinetic Novel Experience

Developed originally by ebi-hime (with Ratalaika Games handling the console port and publishing), The Fairy’s Secret is a kinetic novel. This means player choice takes a backseat; the focus is entirely on experiencing the narrative as it unfolds. Expect:

  • 85,000 Words of Text: Dive deep into the continuation of Marnie and Lisbeth’s story.
  • Beautiful Original Art: Detailed character sprites and event artwork bring the world to life.
  • Original Soundtrack: Music designed to complement the story’s emotional beats.

It’s an experience designed for those who love to immerse themselves in character-driven stories and appreciate lovely visuals and sound, just like its predecessor.

Key Features

  • Lesbian Romance Kinetic Novel: A direct sequel continuing Marnie and Lisbeth’s story.
  • Engaging Narrative: Unravel a new mystery involving a returned knight.
  • Beautiful Presentation: Features original character art, backgrounds, and music.
  • Extensive Reading: Contains 85,000 words of text.

Discover the Secret Now

If you enjoyed The Fairy’s Song or are simply looking for a charming, story-focused kinetic novel with beautiful art, The Fairy’s Secret is waiting for you.

It’s available right now on the Xbox Store for £11.99 (or £9.59 with the launch discount!). Alternatively, grab it from the Nintendo eShop or PlayStation Store.

Settle in and enjoy the next chapter in this sweet yuri romance.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
