Hellcard – out now!

The acclaimed and devilishly satisfying roguelike deckbuilder that has been a huge hit with PC players has just dealt its hand on console – HELLCARD.

HELLCARD, the cooperative dungeon crawler from Thing Trunk, has launched on console. This “Very Positive” rated Steam hit from publisher Skystone Games is now available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch for ÂŁ20.99.

This isn’t just a simple port; the console version arrives as a complete package, bundling in the fan-favourite Bruja the Blood Witch DLC at no extra cost.

The Paper Dungeons Await

HELLCARD is a cooperative roguelike deckbuilder that takes place in the unique paper-craft pop-up book dungeons made famous by Book of Demons. It’s a love letter to the RPG genre and its most influential titles from the 90s, with a humorous tone that still manages to recreate the atmosphere of exploring stuffy dark dungeons and heroically facing the Ultimate Evil.

What makes HELLCARD unique and different from other deckbuilding games is that monster placement actually matters. This isn’t just about playing the right cards; it’s about battlefield control. You can shuffle enemies on the board, altering their targets, and grouping them together for maximum area-of-effect attacks.

You can descend into the dungeons solo, recruiting computer-controlled companions to help you, or you can team up with up to two friends for a tactical, card-slinging romp in drop-in, drop-out online co-op.

A Complete Console Package

In a fantastic move for console players, the game launches with the Bruja the Blood Witch DLC bundled in at no extra cost.

This expansion introduces a sinister new hero class with powerful blood magic, completely transforming how you can build decks, dominate enemies, and support your friends. The whole experience has also been tuned for a smooth, accessible experience on controllers without sacrificing any of the game’s strategic depth.

Key Features

  • Cooperative Roguelike Deckbuilder: A unique blend of deckbuilding and tactical turn-based combat.
  • “Very Positive” Steam Hit: The acclaimed PC dungeon crawler makes its long-awaited console debut.
  • Monster Placement Matters: Shuffle enemies on the board to use their positioning to your advantage.
  • Solo or 3-Player Online Co-op: Descend into the dungeons alone or with friends.
  • Bruja the Blood Witch DLC Included: The console version comes bundled with the fan-favourite new hero class.
  • Unique Paper-Craft Art Style: A love letter to classic 90s RPGs.

The Archdemon’s hordes are waiting and the cards are ready to be drawn. If you’re a fan of roguelike deckbuilders and are looking for a new, deep, and devilishly satisfying challenge to play with friends, HELLCARD is waiting for you on the Xbox Store, playable on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S right now.

HELLCARD Description

Hellcard is a cooperative roguelike deckbuilder that can be played in both Singleplayer and Multiplayer modes. The game takes place in the paper dungeons known from the Book of Demons, and its main mechanics revolve around deckbuilding and fast-paced tactical card battles.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
