Agatha Christie Death on the Nile – out now

A brand-new interactive adventure that will let you live out your greatest detective fantasies has just set sail on consoles and PC.

The latest from the acclaimed Microids Studio Lyon, Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile, has launched today. This reimagining of the iconic cruise is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC for £34.99.

This is a game we’ve already had the pleasure of investigating, and we’ve come away incredibly impressed. Prepare to board a peaceful cruise that quickly turns into a nightmare, in a game that offers a great story and lots of variety.

Our Verdict: A Must-Play for Amateur Detectives

We’ve already been through the case files on this one. In our glowing 4/5 review of Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile, we concluded that this is a fantastic experience for fans of the genre:

I have always found myself wanting to be a bit of an amateur detective, and a good murder mystery novel or TV show is always my guilty pleasure. Thankfully, Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile will let you live out those fantasies… It’s a good challenge, with a great story and lots of variety in its levels.

A Classic Mystery, Reimagined

This isn’t just a simple retelling of the classic novel. The game features a unique dual narrative. You will, of course, step into the shoes of the renowned detective Hercule Poirot as he investigates the murder on board. At the same time, a parallel investigation led by a new private detective, Jane Royce, will take you from London to Mallorca and New York.

The two storylines will eventually converge in a thrilling finale.

The game also immerses you in a reimagined 1970s backdrop, an era of social transformation. From discotheques and flared trousers to a cast of vibrant characters, the game brings a colourful and stylish flair to the classic mystery.

The Mindmap and Confrontation Systems

To solve the case, you will need to master two key systems. The enhanced Mindmap system allows you to collect clues, make connections, and piece together the mystery in a dynamic and visual way.

Once you have your evidence, you can use the Confrontation system to put the pressure on suspects, leveraging what you’ve gathered to uncover lies, reveal motives, and expose the truth.

Your Ticket Aboard: Editions Explained

You can start your investigation today with a variety of digital and physical editions:

  • Standard Edition (£34.99): Includes the full base game.
  • Digital Deluxe Edition (PC): Includes the full game, the digital soundtrack, and a digital artbook.
  • Physical Limited Edition: Includes the full game, a 48-page artbook, a stylish bookmark, and the digital soundtrack.

Your Case File

Here’s what you can expect from this new mystery adventure:

  • A Reimagining of an Agatha Christie Classic: A new, expanded storyline with surprises for fans and newcomers alike.
  • Two Playable Protagonists: Step into the shoes of both Hercule Poirot and the new character, Jane Royce.
