The nights are drawing in but the Xbox news and reviews are still coming thick and fast. Let us take you on a little trip back through the best Xbox One and Xbox 360 stories from the last seven days.
In fact, there has been so much news and so many reviews dropping on the TXH pages over the last week that this could well be one of the longest A Week In The Hub’s that we’ve ever had the chance to create. But bear with us, it’s all good stuff that you really do need to be on top of.
And we shall start with the good stuff….the free stuff!
Xbox Live Gold members can now download a digital copy of Darksiders II on Xbox 360 thanks to the remarkable Xbox Games With Gold scheme. Until the end of the month, Darksiders II will be free, but you may also like to know that the previous incumbent of the free stick, Battlefield Bad Company 2 is also still available. We urge you to download both asap. Free stuff is of course good stuff!
Similarly those involved in the superb EA Access program will find another game has been added to the vault. Not content with just dropping FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, Madden NFL 25, Peggle 2 and Need For Speed Rivals to all Access members, EA have now thrown the brilliant Plants Vs Zombies Garden Warfare out there to the masses. See you on the battlefield some time maybe?
Trailer wise and it’s been another busy one. There has been a bit of everything this week from Far Cry 4, to LEGO Batman 3 to Ubisofts open world social racer, The Crew. Hit the links below to be magically whisked to the relevant articles in order to watch the trailers.

Microsoft have also been keeping us occupied by detailing a standalone Kinect for Xbox One unit, throwing the latest Xbox One system update for October out to all, announcing two brand new Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity bundles that may be of interest to those who are after their first console or even to those who need one for the spare room and released a brand new Xbox One Vine app allowing you to finally watch Vines on the big screen.
Oh, they also announced that Halo: The Master Chief Collection has now gone gold and can be pre-ordered and pre-downloaded right now.
We were fairly busy right here on TheXboxHub as well hitting you with not one, not two, not even three, but four brand new reviews of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Whilst a couple more reviews (that of South Park Pinball and Forza Horizon 2) will be hitting the site in the next few days, the last week saw the following thoughts drop:
- Trials Fusion Welcome to the Abyss Review
- Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor Review – The one game to rule them all?
- Styx: Master of Shadows Review
- F1 2014 Review
We’d love to hear your thoughts on any of our reviews so please have a read and let us know in the comments sections at the end of the articles whether you agree or not with us.
And finally for this week there have been two massive news pieces that we just couldn’t ignore. WWE 2K15 is a huge draw for many and details of the upcoming downloadable content and Season Pass that will accompany the game should be the first port of call for those anxiously waiting for the latest WWE title to release.
But if you are a racing fan, then the news isn’t quite so good. Whilst the stunning Forza Horizon 2 is already out and The Crew has been put back until December, the recent news that Slightly Mad Studios’ next generation racer, Project CARS has now been put back until March 2015 isn’t great. The delay is a bit of a hammer blow to those looking forward to a proper racing sim and you can read full details on the postponement by hitting this link.
That’s all for now. Thanks as always for sticking with us and we look forward to catching you on the usual social media channels or of course via Xbox Live. Have a good one!
