Sometimes You have been pushing small indie games out to the Xbox market for years, with recent times seeing them focusing on multiple editions that are native to both Xbox One and the Xbox Series line of consoles. It’s that idea which they are continuing today, pushing out a fully native, fully optimised Xbox Series X|S version of A Winter’s Daydream to the masses.
Previously having released back in October 2019 on Xbox One (and PS4, Switch and even Vita), A Winter’s Daydream today gets its time to shine once more, with a fully optimised next-gen version that is native to Xbox Series X|S.
A separate Xbox Store page sees this accompanying the previous Xbox One edition of the game, allowing those Xbox on Series X|S the chance to take in the same story but with some optimisation in the house.
Should you not know of A Winter’s Daydream, then we’d advise you to give our full review of the game a read. We speak of a nice story and good music, and whilst it’s very short, the price possibly allows for that. We certainly wouldn’t advise picking up this new and ‘improved’ version if you already have the older Xbox One edition to hand, but should you have missed out previously, it’s possibly worth a shot now – particularly as the usual £4.99 asking price is initially discounted.

Game Description:
A boy returns to his countryside home after spending half a year in the city, only to discover the unimaginable – his elderly grandmother has transformed into a cute young girl! Hijinks ensue. Nineteen-year-old Yuu can’t stand his younger sister, Otoko, and the feeling is mutual. It’s been almost a year since Yuu saw her last, having escaped his dreary home town to study in the bustling city, but with the advent of New Year’s he finds himself obliged to return to his family to celebrate. Unfortunately, Yuu’s absence has not softened his younger sister, and Otoko is just as sullen and surly as ever before. Finding the atmosphere at home unbearable, Yuu decides to escape once more – not to the city this time, but to his grandmother’s snowy, secluded village. The reunion between grandson and grandmother starts normally at first… until one moonlit night, when the pair witness a star streaking through the sky. The following morning, Yuu enters the kitchen, still half-asleep, to discover… “Who are you? What are you doing in my grandmother’s house?” …that his grandmother has transformed into a cute young girl! What is the reason behind his grandmother’s drastic change? Will Yuu be able to restore her to her original self? And why is she so adorable?!
