Who needs the likes of Madden when there’s an SNK ‘classic’ available for all your American football needs? Well, if you prefer to go down the retro route, Football Frenzy has received a second chance in life as it’s been faithfully reproduced as part of the ever-growing ACA NEOGEO series.
Back in 1992, Football Frenzy was launched by SNK to provide realistic (at the time) games capturing the magic of American football in 2D. Players can go it alone, picking one of the ten fictional teams included, such as the Crushers, Rhinos and Wolves, to defeat other teams to ultimately claim the SNK Super Bowl. Due to the variety of formations present, it allows for a multitude of different patterns of play. Taking on the A.I. isn’t the only option either as a 1vs1 versus mode is present, which lets you take on your pals locally.

FOOTBALL FRENZY is a sports game released by SNK in 1992. Select from one of ten individual teams and compete to win the championship. The “ACA NEOGEO” series has faithfully reproduced many classic NEOGEO masterpieces. Players can change various game settings such as game difficulty, and also reproduce the atmosphere of arcade display settings at that time. Players can also compete against each other from all over the world with their high scores.
