After seven years away from the skies, ACE COMBAT is finally preparing for take-off once more. Bandai Namco has officially confirmed the release date for ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE, while also unveiling a range of editions, pre-order bonuses, and the franchise’s first-ever Premium Ace Pass.
Launching on October 2nd 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, the latest entry in the long-running aerial combat series is now available to pre-order. Those opting for the Digital Deluxe Edition will even be able to jump into the cockpit a little earlier thanks to an early access period beginning on September 29th.

A Long-Awaited Return To The Cockpit
First revealed back in late 2025, ACE COMBAT 8: WINGS OF THEVE marks the first mainline instalment in the series since ACE COMBAT 7.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the new entry returns players to the Strangereal universe, where the Federation of Central Usea has fallen under occupation. Players take on the role of the legendary ace pilot known as Wings of Theve, fighting alongside Baxter, Tasha and Coster – collectively known as Joker Flight – in a desperate battle to reclaim their homeland.
While Bandai Namco is keeping multiplayer details under wraps for now, the latest trailer offers a glimpse of the campaign and confirms that online modes will be revealed closer to launch.
Every Pre-Order Comes With A Fan Favourite
Perhaps the biggest surprise for long-time fans is the inclusion of ACE COMBAT ZERO: THE BELKAN WAR with every pre-order.
Widely regarded as one of the strongest entries in the franchise, the 2006 classic explores the origins of the ACE COMBAT universe and introduced the memorable Ace Style system that altered the story depending on player actions.
Anyone who pre-orders ACE COMBAT 8 will receive a digital copy when the game launches on October 2nd.

The First Premium Ace Pass In Series History
Bandai Namco is introducing a completely new progression system for ACE COMBAT 8. The Premium Ace Pass can be purchased separately, but Deluxe Edition owners will gain access through the included voucher. Players will immediately unlock 30 Ace Pass levels and gain access to a season-long reward track featuring additional cosmetics, aircraft skins, avatar items and more.
One of the headline rewards is the playable ADFX-02 MORGAN -PIXY- aircraft, giving veteran fans another reason to keep climbing through the ranks.
The Ultimate Collector’s Option
And then, for dedicated pilots, Bandai Namco is also offering the Joker Flight Pack, available exclusively through the Bandai Namco Store. This bundle contains everything included in the Deluxe Edition, alongside a selection of premium physical extras:
