The fight for Ancient Greece is expanding! Following a successful stint in Early Access on PC, Dark Point Games has announced that their mythology-fueled bullet heaven, Achilles: Survivor, is officially heading for a full 1.0 launch on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Get ready to face down Hades’ relentless hordes with a unique twist on the genre.

Survive the Hordes of Hades on Console

This isn’t just another wave survivor; Achilles: Survivor introduces an innovative building mechanic, allowing players to strategically place defensive towers, life-saving healing structures, or cunning offensive traps to aid their desperate struggle.

Xbox players, alongside those on PlayStation and Switch, will soon be able to dive into the frenetic, top-down action as Achilles or one of his rescued companions. If you have previously played Achilles: Legends Untold, we’d suspect you’ll want in on this one.

The game tasks you with fending off overwhelming waves of enemies drawn straight from the depths of Greek mythology. Prepare for an intense battle where strategy and quick reflexes are paramount.

Unique Bullet Heaven with a Twist: Build Your Defense!

While the core gameplay will feel familiar to fans of the burgeoning bullet heaven genre – think hordes of enemies and a screen full of projectiles – Achilles: Survivor sets itself apart with its integrated building system. As you fight for survival, you’ll be able to construct various structures to turn the tide, all coming together with tactical construction in the form of defensive towers, healing structures and offensive traps.

This added layer of strategy promises a fresh take, requiring players to think not only about their character’s abilities but also about fortifying their surroundings.

A Roster of Mythical Heroes

Players won’t be limited to just playing as the legendary Achilles. Achilles: Survivor will offer a diverse roster of heroes, each boasting unique skillsets and challenging players to master different gameplay styles. F

ancy throwing boulders as a mighty Cyclops, or perhaps unleashing divine fury as a small but surprisingly potent rooster god? The choice will be yours.

The battles will unfold across an assortment of playable maps, drawing inspiration from iconic locales within Achilles’ mythological saga, such as the besieged city of Troy and the grim depths of Tartarus. During each run, you’ll level up your chosen character, gaining powerful abilities and power-ups to transform them from a mere hero into a god of destruction. Between runs, you can increase your overall team stats, improving your odds against increasingly lethal monsters and formidable bosses.

The Story: Defying the God of the Underworld

The narrative of Achilles: Survivor picks up after the Trojan War. Hades, the god of the underworld, resurrects Achilles to use him in a conflict against the other gods. However, once Achilles has served his purpose, Hades betrays him, casting him into Tartarus for eternal torment.

Refusing this grim fate, Achilles breaks free, rescuing numerous lost souls in the process – including some who had previously fallen to his own blade. Enraged by this defiance, Hades unleashes his dark minions to hunt down Achilles and every soul he freed.

Players will take on the mantle of Achilles or one of these rescued souls, preparing for a desperate fight that transcends the land of the living, all in the hope of thwarting Hades and his damnable army.

Key Features to Look Forward To

  • Survival bullet heaven with building mechanics: Expand your arsenal with traps and fortifications.
  • Diverse characters: Choose from numerous heroes, each with unique combat powers.
  • Dynamic action: Slay thousands of enemies, develop your character, and return stronger.
  • Various bosses and enemies: Face powerful bosses and hundreds of enemy types in different biomes.
  • Meta progression: Return from each expedition with treasures that make you even stronger.

Achilles: Survivor is currently available in Early Access on Steam with the team at Dark Point Games actively incorporating player feedback as they work towards the 1.0 launch on both PC and consoles.

This upcoming console release promises to bring a uniquely strategic and action-packed bullet heaven experience to a wider audience. Keep an eye out for a firm release date for Achilles: Survivor on Xbox and other console platforms.
