We’d hazard a guess and say that at times, you don’t want another game that sits there shouting for your attention. You just want to fly around somewhere pretty for a while, collect a few things and forget about everything else.
Aery – Calm Horizon 2 is built around exactly that idea, putting you in control of a little bird and sending you over a selection of peaceful landscapes without enemies, combat or anything else particularly interested in ruining the mood.
It is available for £8.39 on Xbox Series X|S.

Just You, A Bird And A Lot Of Sky
Aery – Calm Horizon 2 is not interested in giving you a traditional objective-heavy adventure. Instead, you take flight and explore a collection of landscapes, looking for magical crystals that mark particular areas.
There are no enemies to fight and no danger waiting around the next corner. You can simply fly, take in the scenery and decide how much time you want to spend in each location.
That also means there’s no need to turn every session into a marathon. Most levels can be completed fairly quickly, although you’re free to hang around and explore if somewhere catches your eye. If you have ever played an Aery game before (and there have been dozens of them), you should know what to expect.
And again, the game is designed around relaxation, so you can choose the levels that suit your mood. Perhaps you have time to properly wander around, or perhaps you’ve only got a few minutes and want a brief break from everything else.
Either way, the emphasis is on exploration rather than achievement chasing or pressure.
Another Aery For The Collection
This isn’t our first trip into the skies with EpiXR Games. We’ve reviewed tons of their Aery games, and earlier this year, we reviewed Aery – Calm Horizon, awarding it 2.5/5.
Our review appreciated the relaxed approach to flying around and finding feathers, but questioned the value of another collection of familiar-looking levels. Calm Horizon 2 now returns with another selection of scenery from across the Aery franchise, once again putting the emphasis firmly on taking things slowly.
Whether you’re already well acquainted with the Aery formula or simply fancy somewhere peaceful to spend a little time, Aery – Calm Horizon 2 is keeping things uncomplicated. No enemies, no danger and no reason to hurry – just pick a direction, take flight and see where it takes you.
