We’ve all played those video games where your protagonist goes into a bar and to simulate drunkenness, the edges of the screen blur and controls get a little looser. This next game feels like this lengthened out into a full experience, only it isn’t alcohol that has affected you this time. It is space dust, or whatever else is inhaled out beyond our atmosphere. Take a journey with Afterglitch today on Xbox and PC.
Afterglitch is a gorgeous looking sci-fi exploration game. You play as an astronaut who has gone on a dimension hopping journey to find out whether there is life out there. On your journey, you will uncover the secrets behind out own existence, explore worlds without borders or limits or just see some truly unique stuff.
Afterglitch has been in development for seven years from a single developer and takes much of its inspiration from science fiction drawings and modern art. It is a treat for the eyes and ears, describing itself as an audiovisual experience drawing from many sources of inspiration.
For fans of 2001: A Space Odyssey, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superliminal and Portal, Afterglitch may be your next favourite obsession.
Afterglitch is on the Xbox Store now priced at £12.49. It has a play time of around two hours, but you could easily explore these landscapes for hours at an end and still not see everything. Let us know in the comments if you will be picking up this unique concept.
