We say it every year, but next year looks to be damn hot. Much of that is due to the plethora of games being lined up to release on the various formats, with the totally over-the-top espionage driving madness of Agent Intercept being the latest to thrust itself into the limelight.

If you’ve ever wanted to transform a souped-up spy car into a plane, boat, or more – James Bond-stylee – all whilst saving the world from all evil, then Agent Intercept is going to be for you.

An over-the-top driving arcade action game with a transforming spy vehicle from developer PikPok, is looking to send an encrypted signal containing a Q1 2022 launch window on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 – with the trailer below these words well worth checking out.

It’ll see you getting behind the wheel of the Sceptre, a souped-up vehicle capable of transforming at a moment’s notice. From there you’ll be left to track down the masterminds behind CLAW, an evil criminal organization, by drifting around corners in exotic locations before taking to the skies with a quick switch to Aerial mode. Avoiding enemy fire on the open seas with a speedboat transformation is also possible, as is racing toward mountain fortresses in off-road Sled Mode.

You’ll get to progress through stages set in breathtaking environments as the only Agent capable of handling the Sceptre and stopping CLAW’s evil plans. Taking care of hazards and enemy vehicles while drifting, boosting, and launching over trains to rack up a high score will be par for the course, as will unleashing an array of spy gadgets at enemies to clear the path forward and complete additional challenges in each stage to earn enough intel points to unlock the next mission.

You’ll also get to master the Sceptre’s transformations to take down imposing bosses including attack helicopters, AI-controlled jets, orbital satellite’s and nuclear submarines, alongside launching missiles, dropping mines and reaching impossible speeds to save the world from the clutches of CLAW with enough style to make even the most seasoned spy raise their eyebrows and lift their highball glass in recognition.

Further is the chance to compete against other Agent Intercept players in Score Attack mode, with various additional challenges and leaderboards to conquer. Pull off the perfect drift around every corner to achieve a top Time Trial mode placement, flex precise aim in Target Practice mode, or show off your mastery of the Sceptre by racking up huge scores in Highscore Chase mode. In Agent Intercept, the action is always cranked up to 11 because sometimes a spy needs to make an extremely explosive entrance.

“We are thrilled to bring Agent Intercept to consoles in Q1 2022,” said Mario Wynands, CEO, PikPok. “Our unique take on classic spy fiction is full of high-speed chases, transforming cars packing missile launchers, and action-packed sequences that would make the most infamous spy envious. We can’t wait to recruit new Agents on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One next year”

Agent Intercept is coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in Q1 2022. Expect to pay around for $19.99 for it, with English, Arabic, Chinese (Traditional & Simplified), Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Spanish (Latin America), Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Vietnamese-language support in place.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
