A perfect world sounds wonderful on paper. No conflict, no unhappiness and no difficult decisions. But when artificial intelligence is the one deciding what happiness really means, things are rarely quite so simple. That’s the intriguing premise behind D-topia, a thoughtful new puzzle adventure making its debut across consoles and PC.
Launching on Xbox Series X|S, PC, Play Anywhere, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and the Epic Games Store (pretyt much everything then!), D-topia swaps frantic action for a slower, more reflective experience centred on puzzles, curiosity and the pursuit of an ideal society.
And we’re so excited for this one, we’ve got D-topia front and centre of our Best Games of July article.

Welcome To A World Designed For Happiness
In D-topia, everyday life is managed by an advanced artificial intelligence whose sole purpose is to maximise the happiness of every resident. Everything is carefully maintained, problems are quietly solved before they grow, and life ticks along with remarkable efficiency.
That’s where you come in.
Taking on the role of the facility’s newest Facilitator, you’ll spend your time solving environmental puzzles, maintaining the systems that keep society functioning and ensuring the people of D-topia continue living their seemingly idyllic lives.
It sounds peaceful enough… but games built around perfect societies often hide a few uncomfortable questions beneath the surface…
A Puzzle Game With Plenty Of Atmosphere
Rather than rushing players from one challenge to the next, D-topia is happy to let you settle into its world at your own pace.
The focus is on observation, logical thinking and exploring the relationship between technology and humanity, all wrapped inside a calm, inviting presentation that feels right at home alongside Annapurna Interactive’s growing catalogue of distinctive narrative experiences.
If you’re expecting explosions and boss battles, you’ll probably be looking in the wrong place. If you enjoy slower-paced adventures that encourage you to stop, think and absorb the world around you, D-topia could be worth watching.
An Annapurna Interactive Release Is Always Worth A Look
Annapurna Interactive has built a reputation for publishing games that rarely follow the crowd, whether that’s emotional adventures, inventive puzzlers or narrative-driven experiences with something meaningful to say. Mixtape, Wheel World, Stray, and to a T are among just some of the brilliant games to have come from the Annapurna stables.
D-topia certainly looks to continue that tradition, pairing an intriguing science-fiction concept with accessible puzzle solving and a relaxed pace that should appeal to players after something a little different.
But does this one turn out to be a genuine utopia or a society hiding uncomfortable truths? Well, its premise alone is enough to make it stand out from the crowd. And our review of D-topia is up and live to tell all.
You’ll find D-topia on the digital stores for Xbox Series X|S, PC, Play Anywhere (via the Xbox Store of course), PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam and the Epic Games Store. This is one puzzle adventure to keep an eye on. Unfortunately you won’t find D-topia on Game Pass at launch. Of course, that could change further down the line.
