Akane set to hack and slash on Xbox and PlayStation

AKANE Key Art

10/10 on Steam, with Very Positive and Overwhelmingly Positive review marks? Critically acclaimed on Switch? There’s some serious buzz hanging around Akane and so news that the hit hack ‘n slasher is coming to Xbox and PlayStation is of huge interest.

As DX Gameworks begin to partner with Ludic Studios, we’ll be finding Akane launching on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4 later this year. If you’re unaware of the game, then you’d do well to check out the trailer below, or hit up the Steam page and peruse some of the superb reviews.

What you need to know though is that Akane is an arcade-arena, hack-and-slash game where players kill enemies with only 1 hit. Not quite sold? Well, the objective of the game is simple, take out as many yakuza enemies as possible, slashing and shooting in a fight to the death. Yeah, knew it wouldn’t take much to ensure you were onboard.

When it arrives on Xbox and PlayStation later in 2022, expect to find the key features of Akane sitting as…

  • Akane Samurai Skills
  • Killer soundtrack
  • A variety of enemies to slaughter
  • Missions to unlock equipment
  • Equipment to upgrade your character

We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop as to when a release date is known, but you should probably expect this one to release on Xbox and PlayStation consoles sooner rather than later.

For now, that trailer is ready for watching. You won’t want to miss this one so give it a shot and then come back here to let us know what you think of it all. The comments are below these words whilst we’re hanging around on the usual social channels too.

If you can’t wait until Akane hits our favourite console, make the most of the love on PC via Steam.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
