If you happen to remember the 1950s then you may be familiar with the works of Alfred Hitchcock in the psychological thriller film Vertigo. If you can’t cast your mind that far back, then luckily you can now experience it in game form!

Releasing today onto Xbox, PlayStation and Switch, following a PC release at the tail-end of 2021, Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo puts an immersive spin on one of the director’s greats, and puts you in the shoes of Ed Miller who, of course, is experiencing a pretty serious bout of vertigo.

You see, poor old Ed was involved in a car crash from which he emerged unscathed and… alone. He is adamant his wife and daughter were in the car with him and as such is determined to investigate such a mystery. Along the way he will succumb to obsession, manipulation, and madness: fair warning, the player will be surrounded by mature themes of suicide, mental illness, sexual assault and the like throughout.

In order to come to the bottom of what seems like a supernatural occurrence, you’ll be dipping in and out of three separate timelines and three different characters, each of which have their own story and attitude towards events. It is of course up to you to make sense of each, and come to your own conclusions.

Reminiscent of A Way Out, the visuals on offer here really immerse the player, ensuring that clues do not go undiscovered, and emotion is aplenty.

Features include:

  • – An original story about obsession, manipulation and madness, inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s masterpiece Vertigo.
  • – Live a powerful narrative experience paying tribute to the visual and storytelling techniques of the thriller genre.
  • – Investigate through the vision of three characters: everyone has a different story to tell.
  • – Explore several timelines to cross-check the events and separate reality from deceptive memories.
  • – Developed by the award-winning adventure game studio Pendulo Studios.

Alfred Hitchcock – Vertigo is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and Switch, as well as PC. For Xbox gamers, head over to the Xbox Store where you can pick up a copy for ÂŁ33.49.

We’ll get you a review very soon.

Game Description:

As he starts therapy, he will try to uncover what really happened on that tragic day. Prepare yourself for a most disturbing investigation inside the human mind: truth is sometimes worse than madness
