Alice in Wonderland inspired Catie in MeowmeowLand points and clicks on PC and console

Even though the whole Alice in Wonderland saga has no doubt inspired many a book, show or game from over the years, we’re not sure any would have been as surreal and weird as the newly released Catie in MeowmeowLand.

Available right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC through both GOG and Steam, Catie in MeowmeowLand from the ARTillery and Blowfish Studios teams is a point and click adventure that has been put together with Alice’s adventures in mind.

Arriving in comical form, with a £9.99 price tag attached (that’s the Xbox price tag by the way, expect other formats to vary slightly), Catie in MeowmeowLand will have you heading down a rabbit hole, dragged down by a huge limb. It’s here where you follow Catie, as they explore storybook styled worlds; lands filled to the brim by all manner of creatures and puzzles. This is a wondrous world, full of interactables, items, animations and more.

The land you are traversing is the titular MeowmeowLand and it’s here where you’ll traverse the mushroom forest, the underground astronomy tower (yep, really), a magical lake and more. It’s in these areas where the likes of the Giant Cheshire Cat will come out grinning, the Waring Pirate Fish and the Crazy Blue Elephant will be up for a chat.
Whatever happens you’ll need to guide Catie to safety.

Features include:

  • * MeowmeowLand is a bizarre world where you find the most unexpected characters in even more unpredictable situations
  • * As you help Catie solve all kinds of original puzzles, be ready to face absurdly comical situations
  • * Play through over 24 beautiful 2D hand-drawn sceneries, see more than 100 funny characters and more than 2 hours of charmingly crafted 2D animations
  • * Listen to original recorded comical voices of all characters and composed music
  • * Instead of reading traditional dull text boxes all characters communicate through comic bubbles filled with amusing line art

“Catie in MeowmeowLand is our own kooky take on this classic story full of outlandish characters,” said Marek Hlavaty, Lead Artist, ARTillery. “Making ourselves laugh with this project has been such a joyful experience and it captures the magic of the original Alice in Wonderland!”

We’re currently midpoint of a full review of Catie in MeowmeowLand and will deliver our thoughts as to how this one plays on Xbox Series X|S very soon.

Edit: Our full review of Catie in MeowmeowLand on Xbox Series X|S is live.

If you’re intrigued, either by the price point, the inspiration or the world of MeowmeowLand itself then get over to a digital store and take home the download you need. You’ll find the Xbox Store capable of providing the one you need in order to play it on Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S. It’s also on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC.

I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
