Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is now on Xbox

Up for a new story-driven, top-down, RPG styled world? Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards is now on Xbox.

Having previously released on PC and Switch, Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards mixes history with fantasy as us Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S gamers get the opportunity to hack, slash and adventure our way through a South American world. 

A game that has been on our radar for a good few years – no more so than when we sat down with the star behind it, Paula Garces, in order to find out more – Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards now arrives on Xbox, bringing together years of design and idea choices for players to enjoy. 

It’s priced at £16.74 and that seems about right for what we are getting here. Having drawn inspiration from multiple angles, particularly The World of Aluna comic book series, Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards sees us joining the titular character as she heads off on a journey of discovery, one that will see her leaving home and travelling to an all-new world. From there, how things play out is pretty much in your own hands, but it’ll also be Aluna’s past which helps push her forth, guiding her future. 

As far as narratives go, we’re certainly interested to see how the whole ‘Aluna’ franchise has been wormed in to Aluna: Sentinel of the Shards. With an overriding vibe that has us attempting to stop enemies from taking control of the world – you know, like in 99% of videogames – it’ll be interesting to see how things play out.

Game Description:

From the heavens, mystic shards rain down upon the earth defying both time and space. Superstition, mysticism and fear of the unknown gave life to a path that went beyond the land of its birth. We meet our heroine Aluna, who as a child has was given the most powerful of these shards that is said to contain the heart of her mother, the goddess of Earth Pachamama. Through a series of circumstances, Aluna must leave her home and journey to the new world. Aluna is fulfilling her destiny, but so is the evil that seeks to fulfill theirs. Aluna’s past guides her future and her enemies will stop at nothing to steal the shard and take control of the world…
