Inayah Life After Gods – now available

In the post-apocalyptic remnants of a fallen alien civilisation, a new hero is rising to forge her own destiny in INAYAH – Life after Gods.

INAYAH – Life after Gods, a new 2D action-adventure, has launched on Xbox Series X|S. This emotionally charged journey from developer Exogenesis Studios and publisher Headup is available right now for ÂŁ14.99.

Prepare to explore a vast and beautiful world, master a dynamic form-shifting combat system, and take on over 20 formidable bosses in a game that stands apart thanks to its stunning, meticulously hand-drawn frame-by-frame animations.

Life After Gods

In INAYAH, you play as an orphaned outcast of the same name, setting out on a perilous journey to find her tribe. Guided by her mentor, she must navigate a divided world, forging new bonds and uncovering secrets that will redefine the very meaning of family.

The core of the combat system is Inayah’s powerful Gauntlet, which allows her to transform her arms into three distinct weapon forms: Blades, Flail, and Fists. Each form comes with its own unique combat and movement capabilities, and you can switch seamlessly between them mid-air for dynamic and stylish combos.

Epic Boss Battles and a Vast World

Your skills will be put to the ultimate test against over 20 formidable bosses, each with unique mechanics and multiple phases that will require you to learn patterns and exploit weaknesses.

You’ll explore a vast 2D world with diverse biomes, using Inayah’s movement abilities and her drone companion, Sputnik, to uncover hidden paths and treasures.

Neatly, you can tailor your playstyle to your liking by customising Inayah’s progression with a variety of upgrades and powerful amulets that enhance her abilities. Each of the three weapon forms also has its own skill tree to develop, allowing you to tackle the game’s challenges in your own unique way.

From Kickstarter Promise to a Stunning Launch

This is a title we’ve had our eye on since its early days. It was back in 2024 that we first got a glimpse of this beautiful adventure when we reported on the INAYAH – Life after Gods Kickstarter and new trailer, which showcased the stunning boss battles and world design. Now, that promise has been fully realised.

Key Features

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
