Morsels – out now on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, PC

Prepare to embrace the grime, because the most delightfully oddball creature collector of the year has just emerged from the sewers – Morsels.

Morsels, a frantic and quirky top-down roguelite from the tiny Toronto team at Furcula and the indie powerhouse Annapurna Interactive is now available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC for ÂŁ11.99.

This isn’t your typical hero’s journey; it’s a story about a hungry mouse, a magical fatberg, and a rotating roster of strange little monsters fighting back against cat dominance.

A Journey to the Upper Worlds

We’ve been keeping a close eye on this strange little gem for a while. Back in August, we reported that the quirky creature collector Morsels would scuttle onto PC and console this November. Now, the sewer grate is open, and the upper worlds await.

Collect, Swap, and Survive

You start as a humble, hungry mouse scrounging for scraps. But after meeting a magical sentient fatberg, you gain the power to transform into a mighty little “Morsel.” This kicks off a wild, top-down roguelite adventure where you must battle the cats’ oppressive forces.

The core of Morsels is its rotating roster mechanic. You can collect new Morsels – little monsters with their own unique abilities and strengths – and nurture a troop of your own. In the heat of battle, you can switch between them at will, using magical cards to transform and adapt to the chaos.

Whether you’re facing a swarm of enemies or a massive boss, choosing the right Morsel for the job is key.

A Unique Visual Flavour

Morsels oozes personality (sometimes literally).

The game features a striking, oddball visual style that blends pixel art with a grimy, underground aesthetic. It’s packed with frenetic action and a cast of unforgettable characters, all set to a soundtrack that perfectly matches the frantic energy of your fight for survival.

Your Sewer Survival Guide

Here’s what you can expect from this quirky roguelite:

  • A Top-Down Creature Collector Roguelite: Collect and nurture a troop of monster friends.
  • Strategic Character Swapping: Switch between your roster of playable characters at will.
  • A Bizarre Story: Fight against oppressive cats with the help of a magical fatberg.
  • Frenetic Action: Use magical cards and unique abilities to survive dangerous upper worlds.
  • A Unique Grimy Aesthetic: A striking visual style packed with personality.

The cats are in charge, and the sewers are calling. If you’re a fan of unique roguelites, creature collectors, or just games that aren’t afraid to be a little bit weird, Morsels is ready for you on the Xbox Store right now. You can play on Xbox Series X|S, or PS5, or Nintendo Switch, or PC.

Morsels Description

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
