Anti-grav combat racer PACER finally explodes onto Xbox One and Series X|S

We’ve been keeping an eye on PACER ever since we had the opportunity to chat to the development team at R8 Games way back in October 2019. Now though the explosive anti-grav racer is finally hitting the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, some months after seeing release on the PS4 and PC grids.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PC, PACER from R8 Games will whisk you off to the year 2075 as the PACER World Championship starts to unfold. This sees only the very best anti-grav racers compete for global titles, as they show off their skills across a variety of technical tracks, involving themselves in the faster racing possible in the hope of achieving the ultimate victory.

Priced at £33.49 with an initial launch discount dropping that down if you are quick, PACER looks set to deliver one of the most intense, most vibrant anti-grav racers since the original WipeOut from back in the day, and with multiple game modes ensuring there is constant reason to jump back in, if you’ve been holding out for a high intensity racer for years on end, that wait may well be coming to an end.

Throw in various craft to work with, each of which will test your skills to the limit, a host of weaponry – an essential for any anti-grav racer – and multiple cosmetic and perfomance options, and it’s looking good for PACER to find a home at the top of the racing tree, no matter whether you prefer taking to the track as a solo pilot, or alongside others in the multiplayer modes.

Edit: Our full review of Pacer on Xbox One is live.

Our full review of PACER on Xbox One will be along very very soon to confirm what you need to know, but in the meantime we’d most definitely invite you to consider purchasing it from your favoured digital store. Whether that be the Xbox Store for Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, or the PlayStation 4 or PC offerings is up to you. This is most certainly looking like a game that is going to be highly optimised for speed, and should have a cracking soundtrack to accompany that.

Let us know what you think of PACER and whether R8 Games have managed to hit the spot required for an anti-grav racer by posting in the comments. We’d love to know your thoughts.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
