Arcadia Fallen II – now available

Seven years is a long time in any world, but in Arcadia Fallen II, it’s enough for everything to feel like it’s on the brink of change. While the wider Empire wrestles with rising tensions around magic, life at the Seven Winds Academy seems calm on the surface… at least until a hidden secret turns an ordinary school year into something much bigger.

Now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Play Anywhere and Nintendo Switch, this sequel from Galdra Studios builds on the foundations of the original, offering a new story that welcomes both returning fans and newcomers alike.

A New Story In A Familiar World

Arcadia Fallen II shifts the focus to a fresh cast of characters, placing you in the role of a mage student at the Seven Winds Academy.

At first, your concerns are relatively normal – exams, friendships, maybe even who you’ll take to the New Year’s Gala. But that sense of normality doesn’t last long. A discovery hidden within the academy pulls you and your fellow students into a mystery that quickly grows beyond the walls of the school.

But at the heart of Arcadia Fallen II is player choice.

From the outset, you’ll select a magical discipline that influences your character’s background, abilities and even how you approach puzzles. Beyond that, your decisions throughout the story shape your personality, relationships and the direction things take.

Importantly, the game leans into a more relaxed approach to decision-making. There are no wrong choices or dead ends, just different paths to follow. Tone labels and highlighted key decisions help guide you, making it easier to play the character you want without worrying about unexpected consequences.

School Life Meets Something Stranger

While the story builds toward larger stakes, there’s still plenty of time spent on the smaller moments.

You’ll form bonds with classmates, explore relationships (romantic or otherwise), and take part in the rhythms of academy life. Of course, this being a magical school, there’s also the temptation to bend the rules a little… sneaking out at night, uncovering secrets and getting involved in things you probably shouldn’t.

It’s this mix of grounded character moments and unfolding mystery that gives the game its identity.

A Welcome Return To Arcadia

We previously spent time with the original Arcadia Fallen, awarding it a 4/5 and noting how it captured the feeling of a tabletop adventure, with a strong sense of camaraderie and player-driven storytelling.

With its blend of character-driven storytelling, flexible choices and a setting that balances warmth with mystery, Arcadia Fallen II offers a thoughtful follow-up to the original. Whether you’re returning to this world or stepping into it for the first time, there’s a sense that this is a story designed to be experienced your way.

Arcadia Fallen II is on the usual digital stores right now, including that of the Xbox Store (ÂŁ24.99) where it’s playable on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Play Anywhere. Our review is on the way.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
