He’s one of the most iconic Finnish pilots the world has ever know and with Dakar 18 gearing up for release comes the news that Ari Vatanen will be making a return to Dakar.
Dakar 18 will be dropping on to Xbox One, PS4 and PC from 11th September 2018 and Ari Vatanen will be arriving with it – as a pre-order bonus for those getting involved digitally. Having taken down the Dakar Rally four times between 1987 and 1991, the chance to play as the legendary Fin will surely prove too much of a draw for many.
With the exclusive pre-order bonus scheme also including the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 that Vatanen drove to victory in the first of those years, this is one extra special limited unlock.
Dakar 18 is – if you hadn’t already guessed – based on the world famous annual rally raid, promising to deliver a realistic simulation of the biggest cross-country rally in the world. It features a variety of official vehicles and one of the biggest open worlds ever created as we get the chance to use the real road books to find our way across each of the 14 stages in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina.
Online multiplayer promises to be fierce, whilst playing offline will give all players the chance to harness their navigational and racing skills, getting behind a huge range of vehicles which faithfully represent many of the official vehicles and pilots for each of the five racing categories – Cars, Bikes, Trucks, Quads and SxS – included in the Dakar Rally 18.
