Aritana and the Twin Masks brings Brazilian adventure to Xbox One

-

We’re not averse to diving deep into different cultures and world histories while playing our games. Lately, it seems like it’s been the route of Norse mythology that the gaming world has embraced with a whole host of games released in the last few years using that era as a template – you know, the likes of Fimbul and Die for Valhalla for instance. But it’s brilliant to go somewhere new – like going on holiday without the luggage problems and the constant threat of drone delays at airports. Aritana and the Twin Masks on Xbox One lets us go to a new place, using Brazilian mythology as its main influence, something which is a first for us to play around with, ensuring we are excited for our next gaming holiday.

Available to purchase and download right now on Xbox One, Aritana and the Twin Masks is the sequel to the development team at DUAIK’s previous work in the series – Aritana and the Harpy’s Feather. In this story though, you can choose between two heroes (man or woman) and venture out into a hugely promising mystical adventure. This fantasy game runs the action-adventure route, where the heroes are related to the god Nhanderuvuçu (best god name in the world, by the way), and are out to restore the balance between nature and humans.

Coming with a price tag of £19.24, Twin Masks sees you going equipped and armed with a bow and arrow, some magical tricks and a big dash of skill, all as you adventure out across beautiful landscapes filled with ancient temples and strange artifacts. You are tasked with using your unique properties to clean out the baddies, solve puzzles and craft items, while obtaining new recipes for different attributes in battle. It could be said that the game is trying to mix its genres with platforming, combat, and puzzle-solving that does seem to have a bit of a Zelda influence, but that is never a bad thing.

Features include:

  • An original story based on Brazilian mythology and folklore;
  • Enemy confrontation is also a puzzle-solving endeavor;
  • Look for hidden artifacts to improve your chances of survival;
  • Explore the vast YpY’s Temple in a third-person adventure game;
  • Create special potions with tropical fruits and objects from the temple;
  • Uncover the truth listening to a fantastic soundtrack.

Aritana and the Twin Masks is available right now on Xbox One and the Xbox Store will allow you the chance to play out this Brazilian adventure. We’ll have a full review for you very soon so make sure you keep an eye out for it, but in the meantime make sure you drop into the comments and let us know if this new tale is one you’ll be checking out.
