Last Year: The Nightmare

Developers Elastic Games have revealed that their debut title, Last Year: The Nightmare, is bringing its 5v1 concept to consoles in 2019. The rather distinguished voice cast looking to breathe life into the action has been unveiled too, so let’s find out more about it.

The year is 1996 and it’s Halloween night; a night that sees a group of teenagers awakened to find themselves trapped in a dark, twisted reflection of their sleepy town of Forest Hill. Making their way across the campus of East Side High School, the realisation sets in that they’re being hunted by terrifying killers. As this is an online action-survival game, five players will take on the roles of teenagers, whilst a sixth becomes a deadly supernatural force. The aim is for the teens to band together, survive and fight back to escape ‘The Nightmare’, with the lone murderer needing to eliminate the whole team to win.

In terms of the voice cast, Last Year: The Nightmare looks set to bring together an all-star line-up that’s full of recognisable voice artists from other games and such. Amongst the talent featured in the game are Melissa Hutchison (Telltale’s The Walking Dead), Zeno Robinson (Metal Gear Survive), Michael Johnston (Teen Wolf), Erica Lindbeck (Spider-Man), Noshir Dalal (Red Dead Redemption 2), Elias Toufexis (Assassin’s Creed Odyssey), Ray Chase (Final Fantasy XV) and Jon Olson (World of Warcraft).

We’ll let you know when a concrete date is set for Last Year: The Nightmare to arrive on consoles, but for now, be sure to get in touch and tell us whether it’s an asymmetric experience you’ll be keeping an eye on!
