After 20 years of playing every game I can get my hands on, I can now be found selling my soul for anything Resident Evil, Gears of War, or Gamerscore related... all of which will be mastered after a good cuppa!
Should you be after a game that can provide hours of fun or even some engaging experiences with friends, then Tetsumo Party isn’t likely to be your go-to game. It has a nice idea and if done better - dare I say maybe even with Kinect from back in the day - we could have been looking at a very interesting game. Sadly, that’s not the case
For a yearly release based on one of the biggest racing franchises, NASCAR Heat 4 doesn’t quite do it justice and even though those wanting a functional racer will find enough to be going on with, there aren't many reasons to pick this over any other racer on the market.
When it comes to survival horror, the first thing that many will want to talk about are the classic titles that kicked it all off; the Resident Evil’s and the Silent Hill’s of this world. Of course, since that point, survival horror has come a long way, evolving a lot, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people out there who appreciate the roots of where it all began. With DAYMARE: 1998, that’s what the focus is centred around.
The words 'rotating platformer' were enough to pique our interests with the announcement of Exception for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch. And then when we discovered that the debut console title from Traxmaster Software also combined a unique level shifting mechanic along with two-dimensional action in a three-dimensional world, those interest levels rose even more. In fact, we just had to know more about it and so we reached out to the one-man developer, Will Traxler, in order to discover more about Exception. He was more than happy to chat...
Must Dash Amigos is actually the latest racing game to come to Xbox One with players swapping out sports cars for something a little rounder and complete with two legs - an Amigo.
Getting horror right isn’t easy, and when you have a market that already has numerous standout titles, you need to do something a little different, something extraordinary - and with the new co-op horror title having found its way onto Xbox One, I roped in some trusty pals before heading in as one of The Blackout Club.
With August upon us, we’re slowly pushing towards that yearly rush of new games, in which the game calendar quickly fills with near daily releases, and the biggest and most anticipated titles of the year start to flood in. One that’s not too far from release is that of the yearly entry in the Call of Duty series, but whilst recent years have seen a very similar copy and paste feel applied to each series entry, this years Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one that looks to raise the bar and reignite the excitement - for both series veterans and newcomers alike. What better way to do that then to go back to where it all kicked off?
What if I were to tell you that the next batch of free Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles coming our way thanks to the Games With Gold scheme for August 2019 may just be the best we've seen yet?
It’s hard to imagine that there is a way to kill a zombie that hasn’t already been demonstrated by some form of media. But that doesn’t mean the influx of zombie games is slowing down; in fact, it appears there are still billions of zombies to kill yet. At least that’s what They Are Billions on Xbox One wants you to believe.
When it comes to racing, it’s fair to say that gamers are pretty well catered for. Whether you’re after the high-speed thrills of Formula One, the two-wheeled mayhem of MotoGP, the off-road antics of the world's finest rally courses, or even a casual stroll through the local countryside in some of the fastest supercars on the planet, there is very little that you can’t enjoy. There is however one other racer now available for players to master. Welcome to European Truck Racing!
If you were old enough to enjoy the horror genre around 9 or 10 years ago, then chances are you may just remember Decay from the moment it first arrived on Xbox 360. It lit up the Indie Game section during its four-part outing with unexpected scares. Now though, returning back all these years later sadly doesn’t quite prove as frightful, but that’s not to say it isn’t at least worth a look.
When it was time for Forza 5 to rock on up to the track, we were just entering the third generation of Xbox consoles, and to show off all that extra horsepower that would come inside the Xbox One, they wanted a flagship title that could truly showcase just what miracles the next generation could perform. And what better title than Microsoft’s beloved racer!
If I was to tell you that one of the latest games to arrive would have you saving the world in a ten-hour adventure as nothing more than a ball, you’d probably shrug it off as being impossible, right? But of course, you obviously wouldn’t have seen Technosphere Reload, the sci-fi adventure from the minds at Adaptive Game that tasks you with just that and has created a rather engaging experience in the process.
So, what is Carnage Tower? Well first of all it’s worth noting that it’s a work in progress, that much is made clear from the initial load up screen, but nevertheless the goal is simple. Carnage Tower consists of 100 floors from bottom to top, each one randomly generated.
For those of you yet to hear of Infected Shelter, it’s a side-scrolling roguelike brawler that’s currently available in Early Access on Steam and is slated for an Xbox One release later this year. Players will select from the unlikely survivors and head out into the randomly generated and bandit littered/zombie infected remains of humanity, collecting blueprints and pulling off crazy skills and combos along the way.

If there’s a mad scientist involved then usually what you’ll be looking at is either the latest episode of Scooby-Doo, or some shady futuristic sci-fi adventure. Fission Superstar X is in the latter of those categories and brings a wacky protagonist straight out of the same weird and wonderful reality you’d expect of a crazed cartoon episode.
Running a tried and tested formula is usually a safe bet provided you can add a little flare and excitement to things. After spending a little time with Mable & The Wood, I still can’t decide if it’s there or not. But I do know this – there’s a uniqueness about it all!
The final week of the Horizon Race Off dawns in Forza Horizon 5, yet as we prepare to bid farewell, there is a last hoorah in the shape of the Festival Playlist Weekly Challenges for Series 32 Spring.
