After 20 years of playing every game I can get my hands on, I can now be found selling my soul for anything Resident Evil, Gears of War, or Gamerscore related... all of which will be mastered after a good cuppa!
Should you be after a game that can provide hours of fun or even some engaging experiences with friends, then Tetsumo Party isn’t likely to be your go-to game. It has a nice idea and if done better - dare I say maybe even with Kinect from back in the day - we could have been looking at a very interesting game. Sadly, that’s not the case
For a yearly release based on one of the biggest racing franchises, NASCAR Heat 4 doesn’t quite do it justice and even though those wanting a functional racer will find enough to be going on with, there aren't many reasons to pick this over any other racer on the market.
When it comes to survival horror, the first thing that many will want to talk about are the classic titles that kicked it all off; the Resident Evil’s and the Silent Hill’s of this world. Of course, since that point, survival horror has come a long way, evolving a lot, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t people out there who appreciate the roots of where it all began. With DAYMARE: 1998, that’s what the focus is centred around.
Whether you’ve got stuck in with the recent titles to come from Wargaming or not, it has to be said that they are on something of a roll right now. With World of Tanks proving incredibly successful in recent years, it wasn’t unexpected to see more from the ‘World of’ universe at some point. It’s time to dip into the waters for a fresh shot at things with Wargaming’s latest title - World of Warships: Legends.
If you’ve stuck around the post-apocalyptic destructive action filled world of Crossout long enough, you’ll be fully aware that content is never something you’ll find yourself short of. Whether it’s making the most of the highs and lows of the in-game market, taking on PVE encounters with your friends or gunning it out in the various PVP challenges that are available, there is always something to do. Now though, Crossout looks to be expanding further still and with a new map, a new Special Event and an all new Story Campaign to be enjoying, there is plenty for those who once moved on from Crossout to be coming back to.
It’s been a long time. A long, long time that has seen us Xbox gamers waiting patiently for Gang Beasts to finally make its way to Xbox One. It’s been so long in fact that the excitement for this one died down more than a year or so ago, after it had already released on PC and PS4. Now though it’s time to see if the wait was worth it. Gang Beasts is on Xbox everyone!
If you’re a fan of strategy titles, then Kite Games’ Sudden Strike 4 will be one you’ll probably be quite fond of. After finally arriving halfway through 2018 with the European Battlefields Edition, Sudden Strike 4 has gone on to bring a steady stream of new content to those looking to get in on some classic World War II real-time strategy warfare, and recently the opportunity expanded further with the arrival of the Pacific War DLC. Does it retain the same level of quality we’ve become accustomed to with the base game though?
Ahhh, shoot ’em ups. The long lived genre that has been much underappreciated. I’ve got to admit to being a big fan of them, in fact in 2018 one of the games I spent the most time with was the classic shoot ’em up adventure Sky Force Reloaded. So when the chance came to jump into one of 2019’s newest additions to the genre, I knew I had to see if we were about to get another sleeping giant of the genre. Whilst I can’t confess to enjoying it as much as the aforementioned, AngerForce: Reloaded is indeed a suitable addition to the genre.
One thing the Xbox has been missing is a tennis game that looks to capture the same magic harnessed by Nintendo and Mario Tennis. If any game is going to be able to do that though, it is Smoots World Cup Tennis and with my racket firmly attached to my hand, I headed to the court.
Trailmakers, a brick builder of sorts, is a game that has spent the best part of the last year on PC with many players appreciating it’s LEGO-esque creative opportunities. With a Game Preview version now available on Xbox One, I decided to jump in to see if we were looking at a simple clone/wishful thinker, or if Trailmakers has what it takes to set itself apart from the crowd.
Besides the karts found in the likes of Project Cars, we’ve rarely seen anything that truly resembles the thrill and excitement of true kart racing. Maybe KartKraft can change all that though, and as the upcoming simulator gets into gear for release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, for now it’s found hitting the apexes of Steam Early Access.
In Outward, you won’t find yourself taking on some gargantuan heroic role; you’re no hero of the universe, you’re not the latest Dragonborn and you won’t be part of a group of legendary monster hunters. See, you’re just one of the locals, a villager, but more importantly one of few survivors of a recent shipping accident at sea.
Depending who you ask, you may well get a completely different answer on the personal thoughts of Titanfall, but not because it wasn’t an incredible game – that it most definitely was!
They may have just created a load of fresh excitement with their all new Razer Lian LI Razer Edition PC case, but it seems Razer aren’t done yet and as of today, gamers can look forward to another product on the horizon. See, the Razer Ripsaw HD has been announced and it's an all new and compact external capture card that promises professional grade features to meet the demands of broadcasters.
The Xbox Games With Gold scheme is one that we tend to appreciate more during some months than others, but one thing you can’t deny is that it certainly bulks out our gaming libraries. Today though the next free Xbox game being sent our way is one we can all be shouting about. You see, it’s a classic, and now it’s completely free for all Xbox Live Gold members. It’s Star Wars Battlefront II.
For those who ignored Ghost of a Tale during its spell in Xbox Game Preview, the completed story follows a small, charming and captivating little rodent. It is he who finds himself imprisoned within the dark and dreary walls of Dwindling Heights Keep on the shore of Lake Vaelia, separated from the true love of his life, Meera.
So, April is here already and I’m betting that, much like myself, you’re sat there with a shameful backlog of games that you had hoped to have already cleared by this point. Well, just to confuse matters even more the free Xbox Games With Gold titles for April 2019 are here, and that can only mean one thing - more games for you, for free, to either add to your backlog or to jump right on into straight away. First though, let’s take a look at the Xbox games on offer to see just which ones are worth your time and which you’d be best off leaving for a rainy day.
Xenon Racer isn’t your typical racing simulation experience. It has no in-depth handling or physics model, and it isn’t going to punish you for the slightest slip on the steering wheel or for hitting that apex to hard. Instead Xenon Racer is aimed at the more casual racer, the arcade racer, the fan of all things fast and furious who wants to be able to relax and simply enjoy some racing.
The two games featured in the Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection were big deals when first released. Playing them again now, it is clear to see why.
For those of you who have been living under a rock or deep in the jungle for the last ten years, the Devil May Cry games feature a protagonist called Dante. And this is Dante when he was just effortlessly cool...
It was only a few short weeks ago that we started calling it as a game, set, match, with confirmation of the release date for TopSpin 2K25. But today it's all about the player roster and brand equipment lists.
