Null Drifter on Xbox One is, at the end of the day, a good experience. I’d love to see it grace the mobile scene, letting us scratch both itches of a quick and frantic gameplay experience and a relaxing, lo-fi soundtrack to listen to. Unfortunately though, it doesn’t have the strength or stamina to exist on Xbox One beside far deeper and more rewarding video game adventures.
Duck Souls+ on Xbox One has fun gameplay, brisk as it may be. There are just so many better platformers with original voices that you should play first.
Ritual: Crown of Horns deserves your time. It’s an engaging experience that’ll find you wanting to quickly run through a bite-sized level yet straining to put the controller back down. It’s unique Grindhouse aesthetic can’t lift it up enough to stand beside the best of the genre yet it should be lauded for being such a strong package that accomplishes what it set out to achieve.
Unfortunately, Ganbare! Super Strikers on Xbox One is it’s own worst enemy. I admire the development team’s ambition to create something new but unfortunately it doesn’t strike any of the right chords.
This game isn’t nice to look at, or to hear in the background, and the gameplay is inherently flawed. In fact, The Adventures of 00 Dilly isn’t recommended for anyone to play.
Spaceland on Xbox One is a game that wears X-COM influences on it’s sleeve, including tons of references to other pop culture stalwarts like Gears of War and Duke Nukem.
Resident Evil 4 is the greatest video game of all time. It’s hard to say any game is the greatest game of all time without it sounding like bombastic rhetoric, but Resident Evil 4, simply is.
Akatori takes a spot as another Metroidvania on the hugely saturated scene, and does little to set itself apart. Yet if you dig a little deeper, and you value narrative in your games, Akatori may have something to offer you in the storytelling department.
