Aven Colony release date confirmed by Team17 alongside new trailer

It must be said, Aven Colony looks rather damn lovely. In fact, it looks good enough to warrant more than a passing glance, especially if you’re a fan of the old city building and management sim genre. Today though, we’re getting another look at Aven Colony as a new trailer is released alongside confirmation of the release date.

So, first things first, Aven Colony will be dropping onto Xbox One, PS4 and PC come 25th July 2017. It’ll be priced at a rather reasonable £24.99 / $29.99 / 29,99€ and will be arriving in both digital and physical forms, at least if you are a console player.

Better still is that if you pre-order Mothership Entertainment’s engrossing sci-fi city-building and management sim, you will receive an additional sandbox map, Cerulean Vale – allowing you to explore its treacherous badlands and discover the remnants of an ancient seabed in this stunning new biome.

A gripping, rich simulation of an alien colony, Aven Colony allows you to build, customise, and maintain your settlement within Aven Prime, a hostile extra-terrestrial world full of deserts, tundras, and wetlands light-years from earth. You’ll therefore get the chance to head into an extensive single player campaign, preparing for attacks from local lifeforms and trying to survive the harsh environments.

All the single player content can also be explored in sandbox mode which allows the chance to tailor a full suite of options to customise the game experience including editing the starting resources, environmental events, minerals, and much more!

We will of course remind you when it arrives, and will ensure we keep you up-to-date with any further news between now and then. For now though, trailer anyone?

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore. Gamertag is neil363, feel free to add me to your list.
