After the success of a couple of The Witcher titles, the launch of Cyberpunk 2077 is a hotly anticipated one. And today we hear news that Bandai Namco will be taking up the distribution reins for the European side of the game.
Coming from CD Project Red – yep, those behind the brilliant The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Cyberpunk 2077 promises to be an utterly enthralling adventure as we get to enjoy the narrative-rich open world ROG that is set in the Cyberpunk 2020 universe.
Following the life of V, a mercenary on the rise in a world of cyber-enhanced street warriors, tech-savvy net-runners and corporate life-hackers, the vibrant land of Night City will be a hugely appealing one. With choice and consequence front and centre, not only will you have to navigate the wild streets of this city, but each and every decision you make will cause reactions across the entire game.
Bandai Namco quite obviously want a piece of this pie and today they are announcing that they’ll be handling the distribution rights in no less than 24 European countries… Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, Malta, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
“Our current distribution partnership with BANDAI NAMCO is built on the strong foundation and trust developed during our previous projects,” said Michal Nowakowski, CD PROJEKT’s Member of the Board and SVP of Business Development. “We’ve successfully cooperated on The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and I’m convinced BANDAI NAMCO will take good care of Cyberpunk 2077.”
“CD PROJEKT RED has become, in just a few years, one of the leading studios in this sector with a truly innovative approach to each game and we are both proud and excited to confirm that we’ll be part of the Cyberpunk 2077 project,” said Alberto González Lorca, VP Southern Europe & Biz Dev of BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment Europe. “We’re looking forward to working once again with CD PROJEKT RED and distribute another of its games in Europe, providing first-class services to one of the most eagerly awaited games of the coming years.”
We can’t wait to hear more about Cyberpunk 2077 – do you agree?
