We love Barry the Bunny. Not the game so much – although we probably will once we’ve spent some time with it – but the setup and premise. You see, Barry is a bunny and he likes carrots. He also likes building bridges, possibly with those carrots. And what’s not to like about that!? The best thing of all though? Barry the Bunny is available to purchase, download and play on Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch right now. Carrot bridge building, anyone?
Sold as a challenging (as challenging as carrot bridge building gets) 2D platformer, Barry the Bunny has hopped out of the Ratalaika Games and lightUP studios to provide some bunny-based fun for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch players.
It’s priced at £4.99 and will see you joining Barry’s world as you embarks on a journey across the most lush of landscapes, walking, jumping, collecting and throwing items that he gathers up along the way. There are four worlds for Barry to enjoy, but each of those are ever so dangerous; full of enemies, traps and challenging platforming affairs. It’s up to Barry – and therefore you – to gather up enough wood whilst out on your travels, all in order to repair the bridges and help the little bunnies return home.
Alright, so no carrot bridges. We’re disappointed.
But what Barry the Bunny does have going for it is charm. Lots of charm. You can see that for yourself in the trailer that is accompanying Barry’s mainstream launch on Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. We’ll let you know in our upcoming full review how this all plays out.
If you’re sold and fancy a fun little diversion from the real-life stresses, you could probably do a ton worse than spend some time with Barry the Bunny on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5 or Nintendo Switch. The £4.99 price tag from the Xbox Store pretty much puts Barry’s adventure in full on punt territory.
The only thing that is seemingly missing is the opportunity for Barry to spend some time at the Bunny Factory. We don’t think he’d like that though.
