garden city

Whether it is The Sims, Cities: Skylines, or any other simulation game you can think of, gamers just love to carve out a world in their own image. Today, we can add Garden City on Xbox to that genre!

A Scaled-Back Take

Whilst Garden City on Xbox – launching following recent PC and PlayStation releases – may not be as complex as such aforementioned titles, and is in fact segmented into over 40 levels, the core loop is the same.

As a gardener left wanting a slice of his distant relative’s riches, to no avail, they take it upon themselves to make a name for themselves and restore some of the most dilapidated areas in a family manor, into beautiful works of architecture. Typically this will include adding a whole lot of green to the place, but restoring old buildings, creating new ones, and defending against pesky thieves and angry wasp swarms is also on the agenda.

Hire Your Own Workforce

This all can’t be achieved with just the one pair of hands, however. Another resource that you must juggle in Garden City on Xbox is that of your employees – hiring workers to do the dirty work for you is key to restoring the trickiest of areas the most efficiently.

Soon enough you’ll be not only a gardener, but an architect, manager, and security guard too!

Key Features of Garden City on Xbox include

  • A happy storyline, colorful comics and vivid characters!
  • A multitude of varied quests that the sorry excuse for a gardener must face.
  • Many trophies for the most hard-working managers.
  • Over 40 unique levels.
  • Treacherous enemies: hidden thieves, angry wasps and… goats.
  • Varied locations and park styles: classic, eastern, antique and modern.
  • Useful bonuses: speed up work, stop time and run fast.
  • Simple controls and a clear tutorial.

I'm an avid gamer who will play pretty much anything... but stick an open world or adventure game in front of me and I'm more than happy.
