Better call in the best wingman for the job as the local co-op tactical action mash-up ZAMB! Redux arrives on Xbox One. The mission is simple – stop the mad scientist!
ZAMB! Redux is a local co-op experience where you’ll be tasked with stopping a maniacal scientist, Dr. Hundertwasser, who’s attempting to take over the entire galaxy with his army of regular animals that have been turned into bloodthirsty mutants – yet another brilliant mind using his brains for pure evil. Nevertheless, special operatives Cye and Chrome must fight their way through a Secret Asteroid Base.
Cye, the red-haired brawler, relies on a pair of gauntlets to unleash powerful punches and special attacks upon the enemy. Chrome meanwhile is almost the exact opposite, focusing on tactical play and wishing to pick off the mutants from a distance with a gun, constructing devastating turrets when required. The skills of each agent can be developed with over 200 upgrades in total, which will be crucial in overcoming the 29 progressively difficult levels and the most destructive mutants the scientist has created.
Whilst you can go it alone and get support from the A.I. controlling the unused special agent, it’s certainly more geared up towards some epic couch co-op action with a friend or family member. If the thought of protecting the galaxy from an evil scientist is something that intrigues you, ZAMB! Redux is currently available on the Microsoft Store for £15.99.
Game Description:
ZAMB! Redux is a mash-up of a twin stick shooter and a tower defence game. Play in couch co-op with a friend, sibling or partner as two space agents, Cye (the brawler) and Chrome (the tactician). Exterminate hordes of biomutants created by a mad scientist. Mix and match turrets, powers and traps to find your favourite play styles – from close combat to long-range destruction. When your buddy isn’t there, go solo, switch dynamically between the characters and power through challenges on your own. ZAMB! Redux is a console edition of ZAMB! Biomutant Extermination, originally published on PC in 2014. Now refreshed, rebalanced and enhanced!
