Beautiful Sakura: Running Club – on Xbox

We’re back with another chapter in the Beautiful Sakura saga with release of Beautiful Sakura: Running Club on Xbox.

Cropware is back with Beautiful Sakura: Running Club, a visual novel that follows Kaito’s journey as he embarks on a new hobby: running.

Available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, this latest installment promises to explore themes of love, friendship, and self-discovery as Kaito navigates the challenges of training, competition, and the complexities of relationships.

A New Chapter for Kaito

Following the adventures in Beautiful Sakura: Surfing Club (which, if you recall, we awarded a dismal 0.5/5 in our review – one of the worst “games” we’ve ever encountered), Volleyball Club, and Fitness Club, Kaito is back and ready to lace up his running shoes.

This time, he joins a local running club, where he’ll reunite with familiar faces and forge new connections.

Will This Entry Be a Marathon or a Sprint to the Finish?

While the previous Beautiful Sakura games have left us with a less-than-favorable impression, we’re cautiously optimistic that Running Club might offer a more engaging and meaningful experience.

The premise of exploring themes of self-discovery and the complexities of relationships through the lens of a running club has potential, and we’re curious to see if Cropware can deliver a narrative that resonates with players.

Features That Might Make You Run (to the Xbox Store)

  • Visual Novel Storytelling: Immerse yourself in Kaito’s journey through a visual novel format, complete with dialogue choices and branching narratives.
  • Running Club Dynamics: Explore the social dynamics of a running club, meeting a diverse cast of characters and forging new relationships.
  • Training and Competition: Experience the challenges and rewards of training for running competitions, as Kaito pushes his limits and strives for personal growth.
  • Self-Discovery: Follow Kaito’s journey of self-discovery as he learns more about himself and his place in the world.
  • Relationship Building: Navigate the complexities of old friendships and new connections as Kaito balances his social life with his passion for running.

A Fourth Chance for Beautiful Sakura?

Beautiful Sakura: Running Club has the potential to redeem the series’ reputation and offer a compelling visual novel experience. We’re eager to see if this entry can break free from the monotony of its predecessors and deliver a story that’s worth running for.

Beautiful Sakura: Running Club is available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S through the Xbox Store for £9.99. Will this be the game that finally crosses the finish line for the Beautiful Sakura series? Only time (and our review if we can bring ourselves to play it) will tell.
