It may seem some way off but 2021 will be here before we know it. For many it’ll be a godsend too, giving us reason to forget all about the rubbish of 2020. Helping the cause will be the launch of an hilarious new space adventure – Minimal Affect.
Coming to all major gaming platforms (yep, that’s all we’ve got but expect that to easily cover an Xbox console or two, a Playstation console and the good old Nintendo Switch), and PC in 2021, Minimal Affect is being sold on the back of being an epic sci-fi parody that promises hilarity, adventure, and a crew of utter space misfits.
Created by the team at Toadman Studios, helped along by Enad Global 7 (EG7), Minimal Affect will see us boldly go into absurdity working as a love letter to a wildly popular entertainment genre. As the very minimum it’ll aim to deliver an authentic, but unexpected, “space epic” with a diverse crew of dubious characters.
“Minimal Affect is our homage to some of the greatest sci-fi RPGs, movies, and shows that we absolutely love,” said Rasmus Davidsson, Creative Director on Minimal Affect. “While the story is ridiculous, the gameplay certainly is not – this is a fully fledged action-RPG created in the art-style of adult animation you know and love. It’s a super galactic tale of space adventure, comedy, and questionable morality.”
A story-driven space adventure with a colourful cast of characters on a quest to save the galaxy once again and get into a LOT of space alien combat, Minimal Affect will see you guiding your team, meeting new characters, learning new skills, exploring side quests and generally doing what the hell you want – or at the very least everything you’d expect to do in a third-person action RPG that is set in a vibrant, stylish, cartoon-fuelled world.
Warp speed into the absurd on a one of a kind journey across the Milky Way in Minimal Affect! What happens when the rag-tag crew aboard the Star Alliance Balding Eagle blasts off on their maiden journey? Well, things get scary real quick. And the team turns to… their “fearless” leader?
If you’re interested then you’d do well to hit up the Minimal Affect announcement trailer below, joining the team on their first “trip” in space by viewing the reveal trailer. Let us know what you think of it and we’ll be sure to keep you fully updated as to the development process in the months ahead.
Just remember – in space, no one can spell your name.
