We’ve had countless casino games on the Xbox One, focusing on poker – with Ripstone’s Poker Club fast approaching – blackjack, slots or all of them and more. You start by choosing your avatar, with a few cosmetic options and a head full of ambition. Then it’s time to head into the casino, and choose where you make your fortune, from the aforementioned blackjack, poker and slots, to roulette, craps, bingo and video poker.
What excites us about this one is the progression (or loss of it – this is gambling, after all). Do well, and you will get rewarded with increasingly flamboyant cosmetics to flounce around in. Do even better, and the casino will begin to open up to you, unlocking high-roller lounges and VIP sections.
It’s a living game too, which makes for a competitive and social landscape. There are seasons of play, with the highest ranked players getting ingame rewards. The best of the best even get their pictures posted in the Hall of Fame.
You don’t have to always be at the top end of the competition: there are opportunities to socialise throughout the casino, and you can chat over the poker tables. The Four Kings Casino and Slots has been built like an MMO, allowing multiple ways to play together and chat together, as well as look better than each other, through the wide-ranging cosmetics.
