Biomutant’s new Mercenary Class adds in dual-wielding samurai loadout

2026's Best Games

biomutant mercenary class

It may have picked up a mixed range of reviews upon launch, but honestly, we’re big fans of what THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 provided with the wonderfully mutated world of Biomutant. Much of that draw was in the variety of initial loadouts and character classes yet with the latest DLC you’ll be able to know channel your inner samurai with the dual-wielding Mercenary Class.

Available to purchase, download and add into your game right now, the Mercenary Class for Biomutant will let you experience Biomutant as a badass samurai, dual-wielding weaponry from the get-go and getting up close and personal with every combat situation.

Priced at £2.49, this is a pretty damn cheap addition to what Biomutant already is able to provide players, giving access to a classic Katana and then the short Wakizashi blades as you spin, slash and swipe your way to glory.

With a huge open world ripe for exploration, it’s the combat of Biomutant which is right up there with the very best moments that the game can produce, and so the opportunity to head into that as a full-on Mercenary is one that many will not be able to ignore.

You will obviously need a copy of the base Biomutant game first, and you’ll find that available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PC. With a game that is able to provide some superb freeflowing combat, a great narrative and some stunning visuals, this is one you shouldn’t be missing.

Once you do have the standard game, you’ll find the Biomutant Mercenary Class DLC present on the usual stores – the Xbox Store being our favourite.

DLC Description:

The Mercenary is a special class loadout playable from start through this DLC only. The Mercenary has dual-wield as a starting ability and is geared up with a classic Katana and the shorter Wakizashi blades to explain it in real-world terms. Simply put, it’ll let you experience the world of BIOMUTANT as classic samurai looking warrior from the start.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
