Black King stomps to Override 2 as cross-platform matchmaking rolls out

When Override 2: Super Mech League smashed its way to Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and PC, if truth be known it took a little step back from the original title. But since that time Modus Games have continued to push their product with new content and additional features. And that’s where we are today as not only does Black King arrive from the ULTRAMAN universe, but cross-platform matchmaking ensures the player base will be ever larger.

Available as the third new character to arrive from the ULTRAMAN franchise into Override 2, Black King follows on from Bemular and Ultraman himself to provide Override battlers with another new fighter to involve themselves in.

Priced at £3.59 or as found as part of the Override 2 Season Pass, Black King will see you stomping and crushing opponents to dust. A ravenous Kaiju, Black King comes straight out of the ULTRAMAN anime to try and rip those in front of him to shreds. And honestly, we reckon he’s got what it takes to be a bit of a success on the brawling battlefield. With Dan Moroboshi the next addition through the Season Pass, there could not be a better time to get involved with what Override 2 brings.

But that’s not and Modus have also now introduced full cross-platform matchmaking. Taking place and allowing Xbox, PlayStation and PC players to join as one, the opportunity to experience shortened queue times and an ever growing pool of players should mean that Override 2 can now kick on and start looking ahead again.

If you haven’t yet played the game and want to know what it is all about, then well, it’s a brutal brawler in which you get to take charge of a crew of devastating mechs, laying the smackdown on any foes that come in your way. With a strategic depth to the success, and a Career mode ready and willing to draw in those looking to learn, it follows on from the original Override: Mech City Brawl

You’ll find the game available to play on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch and PC. Let us know if the arrival of that cross-platform play and the introduction of Black King to the roster is enough to get your excited.

Black King DLC:

Play as Black King, a towering and ferocious beast that will destroy anything in its path! Featured in the Netflix ULTRAMAN series, Black King joins a roster of mech arena fighters as the first kaiju character with an arsenal of powerful attacks, and metal-chomping combos!

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
