There may only be one flight experience that you think is worthy of a look, but if you’re bored of the coasting in Microsoft Flight Simulator and are after something altogether more exciting, then Project Wingman has got your back – especially now that it is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and through Xbox Game Pass.

Available to purchase and download right now, Project Wingman is the latest flight affair to hit Xbox. This one arrives after some success on the PC scene, to make the most of the power of Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, and the free love that is afforded to subscribers of Xbox Game Pass too.

Priced at £20.99 to own, or fully installable and playable through Game Pass, Project Wingman is a combat flight title, much removed from Microsoft Flight Sim and more in line with good old Ace Combat.

With an emphasis on refined gameplay, a true-to-roots feel and a single player experience which is nothing but engaging, Project Wingman should well appeal to those looking for a pick up and play, take-to-the skies dream.

There’s a lot going on here too, with the chance to embark on the tastiest of dogfights right at the heart of the action. And whilst the skies may feel the same, there are a whole ton of locales to work through too, with views that are ready to rival anything and everything.

Throw in weapons galore, a Conquest mode which will have you fighting an uphill battle from the get-go, and more than 20 aircraft and 40 weapons at hand, and Project Wingman looks to have everything that anyone could ever want.

In all, the key features you’ll be looking to involve yourself in work as follows…

  • – Fly in varied and exciting scenarios and locations unlike you’ve ever seen before
  • – Engaging single player campaign
  • – Over 20 different aircraft and over 40 unique weapons at your disposal
  • – Fight different kinds of adversaries such as giant mechanized fortresses and railgun cannons
  • – Test your skills in Conquest mode and fight against hordes of adversaries
  • – Want a different Conquest experience?
  • – Adjust it with modifiers to your liking
  • – Beautiful 3D Volumetric clouds rendered with TrueSKY

Playable through Game Pass, available to purchase should you really be taken in, and powered along nicely by both Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, should you be looking to fly high and prove yourself in the most intense of combat situations, this is one to seriously consider.

Or at least we hope it is. Only our upcoming full review of Project Wingman on Xbox Series X|S will be able to confirm the details you are in need of. Keep an eye out for that soon.

For now, the Xbox Store awaits any Maverick…

Game Description:

Project Wingman is a combat flight action game with an emphasis on polished and refined gameplay, true-to-its-roots inspirations, and an engaging single player experience. Perfect for those who aren’t looking for a simulator experience, with the ease of pick up and play, all the way to those who want a fast-paced challenging flight action game. Dogfight, strike, and fly through combat zones based off an alternate history of Earth. Either over the cold waters of the Bering Strait, attacking tanks in the brutal environments of Yellowstone magma fields, or diving through the Redwoods to strike targets of opportunity in the Pacific Northwest, across the oceans, above the scarred lands of the world, this war will take you from exotic battlefield to exotic battlefield, all while going up against odds way above your pay grade.

An Xbox gamer since 2002, I bought the big black box just to play Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee. I have since loved every second of the 360's life and am now just as obsessed with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S - mostly with the brilliant indie scene that has come to the fore.
