Bober Constructions – building up on Xbox

There are simulation games about running farms, building cities and managing entire transport networks. Then there’s Bober Constructions, a game that asks a far more important question: what if a team of beavers were put in charge of a construction company?

Available now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ7.99, Bober Constructions throws players into a colourful world of bridges, roads, walls and increasingly chaotic building projects. Don’t expect this to be a game that takes itself too seriously.

At A Glance

  • Game: Bober Constructions
  • Developer: Simplicity Games
  • Publisher: Simplicity Games
  • Platforms: Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S
  • Price: ÂŁ7.99
  • Genre: Construction / Co-op Simulation

Grab Your Hard Hat, Beaver

Players take control of one of four beaver builders, taking on a variety of construction jobs that require quick thinking, teamwork and a little bit of improvisation. Bridges need building, roads need laying and obstacles need overcoming, all while keeping clients happy and the clock firmly in mind.

This is far from a game that wants you to go creating architectural masterpieces though. See, Bober Constructions is much more interested in generating frantic moments as players scramble to get jobs finished before everything falls apart. We’re pretty sure you’ll have played such games previously.

Building Under Pressure

Each mission presents its own challenge, requiring players to make use of available materials and adapt to whatever the environment throws at them. One moment you may be constructing a bridge across a gap. The next, you’re trying to work out the quickest route around a wall while making sure the whole structure doesn’t collapse around you.

The emphasis on cooperation is obviously a major part of the experience too. While solo players can tackle assignments alone, this is a game that has been designed with groups in mind, encouraging communication, coordination and the occasional blaming of your fellow beavers when things inevitably go wrong.

Time To Get Building?

Bober Constructions is available right now on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S for ÂŁ7.99. Just head over to the Xbox Store.

If you’re looking for a serious construction sim, there are plenty of options elsewhere. If the idea of working alongside a crew of beavers to throw together bridges, roads and walls under pressure sounds more appealing, this one may be worth a closer look.

We’ll find out whether these industrious little builders have what it takes once we get some time on the construction site.
