The vaults of Kairos are far from empty. Borderlands 4 Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon officially launches today, delivering the first premium paid expansion for Gearbox’s chaotic looter-shooter.
Available across all platforms where Borderlands 4 is playable – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC – this new DLC introduces fresh enemies, powerful loot tiers, and a cavernous new threat lurking beneath Kairos.
If you thought the base game was loud, explosive, and packed with mayhem, this Bounty Pack proves the real rumblings were only just beginning.
A Descent Into The Stone Demon’s Lair
In Legend of the Stone Demon, players team up with Defiant Calder to investigate the barbaric practices of the Augers. This is a faction that has spent centuries sacrificing victims to quiet the mythical Stone Demon beneath the surface.
The journey takes Vault Hunters deep into an ancient cavern filled with rich veins of crystalline Ordonite, introducing new Ordonite-encrusted enemy variants that shimmer with danger. Along the way, expect to go up against three new miniboss encounters, a formidable final boss battle, and a host of environmental storytelling rooted in Kairos’ darker myths.
It’s a focused but punchy slice of content, designed to ramp up difficulty and reward those who love high-stakes combat.
Pearlescent Gear Arrives For All Players
Launching alongside Bounty Pack 2 is a major free update that introduces Pearlescent gear – a rarity tier that surpasses even Legendary status.
Unlike the DLC itself, Pearlescent gear is available to all Borderlands 4 players, regardless of edition ownership. This new tier promises stronger rolls, more extreme effects, and fresh build possibilities that will likely reshape endgame loadouts.
For loot hunters, this may be the most impactful change yet.
Loot, Cosmetics And Vault Card Rewards
Bounty Pack 2 doesn’t stop at story content. Players diving into the expansion will also find:
- 10 new pieces of Legendary and Pearlescent loot
- A new Vault Hunter Skin
- A new Digirunner vehicle
- A new ECHO-4 Drone Skin
- A Vault Card featuring 24 cosmetics
- Four rerollable pieces of mecha- and kaiju-themed gear
The Vault Card adds another progression layer, encouraging repeat playthroughs to unlock cosmetic and gameplay bonuses.
More To Come In The Borderlands 4 Roadmap
Bounty Pack 2 is just the start. In March, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned launches as the first full Story Pack, bringing a brand-new Kairos zone, multiple missions, fresh gear, cosmetics, and even a new playable Vault Hunter named C4SH.
For players who invested in the Super Deluxe Edition, all of this content is included automatically, ensuring the chaos continues without interruption.
Building On A Return To Form
When we reviewed Borderlands 4, awarding it a 4.5/5 score, we described it as: “A return to form for the series… The new characters are fun, the gunplay is as cool as ever, and the additional mechanics add an extra layer.”
The Stone Demon Awakens
With new bosses to conquer, crystalline threats to eliminate, and a higher loot ceiling than ever before, Bounty Pack 2: Legend of the Stone Demon proves Borderlands 4’s post-launch support is aiming high.
For those ready to dig deep into Kairos’ ancient caverns and chase the next level of loot, the Stone Demon awaits.
