Omeda Studios is unleashing a beastly new update for its free-to-play third-person action MOBA, Predecessor – and it welcomes in Boris!
Patch 1.4 introduces the highly anticipated hero Boris, along with a brand-new Loot Core system, the Shadow Ops Battle Pass, and a host of quality-of-life improvements.
Patch 1.4 for Predecessor is scheduled for release at approximately 12:00 GMT, Tuesday 11th March 2025.
Boris: The Beast Reforged
Boris, the ursine powerhouse, is finally joining the fray as a playable hero. Combining modern technology with primal force, Boris is a formidable presence on the battlefield. His ultimate ability, Ursine Burst, allows him to charge forward with devastating speed, grabbing an enemy hero and slamming them into the ground, causing shockwaves that damage nearby foes.
Loot Cores: A New Way to Collect
Patch 1.4 introduces Loot Cores, offering players a new way to acquire a vast selection of in-game items. Earn Loot Cores by completing challenges and participating in events. There are two types of cores:
- Ion Cores: Contain common, uncommon, and rare loot.
- Quantum Cores: Can contain up to legendary loot.
Both types of cores can also drop Amber, Platinum, and Opals, which can be spent in the Opal Store to unlock exclusive cosmetics.
Shadow Ops Battle Pass
The new Shadow Ops Battle Pass delves into the mysteries of a shadowy organization within the Predecessor world.
The Battle Pass offers a range of exclusive rewards, with up to 60 levels for those who purchase the premium upgrade. Loot Cores are also included in the Battle Pass, providing even more opportunities to unlock new items for your favourite heroes.
Quality-of-Life Improvements
Patch 1.4 also includes several quality-of-life enhancements, such as:
- Voice Chat: Communicate with your team using in-game voice chat.
- Text Chat Upgrades: Improved text chat functionality for better communication.
- Custom Match Improvements: Enhanced options for creating and managing custom matches.
