It’s one of those crossovers that makes zero sense straight off the bat. The Walking Dead, when it’s not about undead walkers, is about the people and communities that spring up; bridges aren’t exactly the first thing you think of. But yet, when you remember that Bridge Constructor has slowly progressed to the point where it’s a modern day Lemmings, focused more on creating fabulous structures than purely bridges, then Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead starts making a deal more sense. This isn’t Bridge Constructor’s first crossover rodeo. Fresh from Bridge Constructor: Portal, we now have the AMC Walking Dead TV series (likenesses and plot are taken from the diminishing TV show, rather than the Robert Kirkman comic series). You’ll get to play as thinking redneck’s strumpet Daryl, Michonne and the thematically appropriate Eugene (he builds things!) as you construct structures to avoid, massacre or contain the zombie hordes. Being The Walking Dead, humans will be among the enemies too. Why can’t we all just get along?
While The Walking Dead AMC series is hardly a laugh-a-minute, Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead might just bring some yucks. The ragdoll physics in particular mean that the zombies slip, slide and jerk through your constructions like they’re on a flume holiday in Butlins. The tools at your disposal only amp this up: you’ll have explosives, slides, traps and vehicles to Rube-Goldberg the zombies into some ridiculous undeaths.
